If you makes friends, do you mind their status?
Today my colleague told me," if you want to make friends with others, don't tell them that you are an ordinary salesclerk. Or you would be despised and they won't make friends with you." I totally cannot agree with her. In my opinion, the most important aspect of a relationship is honesty but not status or cheat, if you want to find some genuine friends. What aspects of a relationship do you find most important? By the way, do you mind I'm just an ordinary salesclerk?

A lot of people have service jobs or work in retail. That is just how it is. A job is a job. I think it's better they know first off, cause if they are going to be petty about it wouldn't be better if they do it right away, than find out later how shallow they are?
|
That seems like a really shallow worldview, one I believe should have died with the confederacy. Anyways, I don't really judge my friends based on their backgrounds. I think it's really cool how we live such different lives yet have so much in common.
Social status shouldn't matter either, one of the things I hate most about the world is social acceptance and what's deemed right and wrong socially. Look, we're all going to die someday. Live your life without caring about these things. Whatever gives you happiness (within reason) you should pursue, without denying anyone else of theirs. |
People who judge based on hierarchical position in society/monetary standing can suck a fatty.
|
That sounds really stupid, most people have dumb jobs, has nothing to do with them. I think whoever said that was one of those kids who were sat in front of the TV too often as a child.
|
I don't mind people's status at all.
I do mind people apparently being members of some ****ed-up chinese terrorist cult though. |
You bigot. Terrorists need love too.
|
My bigotry fits nicely with me having 1488 posts.
|
Haha. What makes you think he's a terrorist anyway?

Why would i mind if you're a salesclerk? i don't wanna sleep with you.. i only sleep with fast food employees.
Actually, im one of those ppl who evades answering questions about my job cause: 1. Its not an impressive job. 2. Im very bad at it. I got nothing to boast about so i don't, regarding the honesty thing for the most part i agree with you, i do like to be honest up front but i do think it's best conveyed gradually as you gain a person's trust or else it can be a little too much to handle. |

Would "Cabana Boy" be considered impressive? I'll need to gauge my status as one pretty soon.

Not at all. Basically I liked their status too.

This is stupid. I'd give anyone the time of day aslong as they aren't intolerant, overly judgemental, a dickhead or a tory.
The last two are interchangeable. |

Well, me personally, i just don't care.. why would i? Hell, i've been an EMT, Medic in the army, Door to door alarm salesman, cashier, paperboy, salesman in a store, nurse, personal assistant for people with mental and physical handicaps, and right now i work at a gas station. Don't really feel like i can judge anyone!
|
Try not to cream too hard people but I work graveyard shift at a hotel watching Netflix for 8 hours at a time.
|
I don't at all judge people based on their job (or lack of one), economic status, educational background, body type, age, musical or other tastes, etc.
I do judge people a bit on whether they're snobs and whether they judge people based on jobs, etc. I don't care for people insofar as they do that. And I judge people on whether they're easy-going, open-minded, positive-minded, friendly/kind/helpful/tolerant/understanding towards others, eager to experience things and learn things, etc. Those are the traits I like. Those are the sorts of people I like being around. |
Don't you think that kind of makes you closed-minded?
|

Maybe it would be closed-minded per how you define the terms, but that's up to you. |
