It's amazing, I love it here so much. The culture is pretty much the same as Australia's, but the climate and scenery are what differ. It's very cold (as opposed to sweltering hot Australia) and everywhere you look are just beautiful planes and snow-capped mountains and all those LOTR-type locations. I want to move here so badly! My friend I'm staying with is afraid that I'm never going to leave... I think she's onto my plan...

So if you ever get the chance, you should definitely visit!

Got work, or no?

I'm still trying to find some expanded metal for use with my pit. My grilling days are on stall at the moment.
I long for a grill out though.
I'm just not able to do so at the moment, so if you can, at least tell me how awesome it was.
I'm thinking I should have one tomorrow. I've got some meat that needs to be grilled and it's a beautiful weekend. But I need some charcoal, and it's kind of hard lugging a bag of charcoal on a bike. Maybe the market across the street has some. So I may do that tomorrow.

Today was a good day, got up at the crack of dawn and went hiking, perhaps I'll share some pics later. Tied and sore, sun burned.

Grilling time is fast escaping me here in Wisconsin... before we know it we'll be in the mire of October.... leaves will be gone and that chill will be back... that doesn't stop some though!

Wouldn't make a bad stopover on a long trip home to see the folks back in Adelaide...

BTW, I'm quelling my homesickness tonight by listening to Triple J online... suprised at how little it has changed all these years, and I like that, I like to stay in the Aussie loop as much as possible... I should be tuning in more often, methinks...

So you're originally from Adelaide? Triple J has actually turned quite rubishy over the last 5 years or so It used to be a really alternative station, lots of alt rock and stuff. Now that the executive producer has changed it's flooded with a whole lot of crappy dance and pop stuff, not to mention terrible Aussie hip-hop.

I have the feeling I've had this conversation with you before... haha

Born in Adelaide, hope to return someday... :-)

Yeah I did notethe change in Triple J's positioning a year or so before I left Australia... last night I am pretty sure I did hear just a bit too much electro - pop type stuff, and yeah, their whole championing of Aussie hip hop was something my friends and I laughed and lambasted them for quite often...

But having left Australia, I can tell you, as far as scope, diversity, variety and sheer plain lack of cliched bull**** goes, there really aren't too many larger network stations like it. The playlist may not always be what I want but its not as sadly repetetive as ANY network here in the states, and I really enjoy the lack of commercials and dumb commercial station antics for publicity, like ridiculous competitions, dumbass radio "jocks" who think they're funny and just.... aren't...

I still kinda love the J's for that reason alone.... it's a breath of fresh air in a sea of commercial crap on the radio in the states...

Plus I just like to hear about what's going on in my homeland, and hearing the accents does something to quell my occasional feelings of homesickness.

Today I fried some chicken fillets, read an interesting piece in the Times about Michael Palin's new book, went on a walk, watched Broadway Danny Rose again... so, yeah, I've basically done nothing Only 5 more days 'til I head back to uni though, which is pretty cool.

Today I found out my band has a gig! Yay! On the 9th of December. I'm so excited, we haven't played anything live for a LONG time. I can't wait 'til I get back to Aus so I can practice.
