That's horrible. I can't even imagine being in that position. I'd want to be put down.
Paging Dr. Kevorkian...

Poor fella.
I wonder if there's ever going to be a kind of unanimous agreement policy for pre-dementia patients to authorize being put into a coma, then allowing family members to take them off life support... Seriously, most of us wouldn't want to live like that. It's hard for both the victim and the family.

It's a dodgy one because if you're like my gran (who has alzheimers by the way) you'll end up having rampant moodswings and will lash out due to her confusion over anything, apart from my mum and my aunt she doesn't recognise anyone anymore. Getting her into hospital was an effort itself.

Man that's got to be the worst affliction ever.
I really hope some progress is made in the prevention and treatment of this.

Aw man, that sucks. I can't even imagine. My nana has really been starting to really drive us round the bend over the last couple of years or so. She's never been the same since my grandad died and I worry when I think what may happen to her in the years to come but just goes to show that we really don't know what hard work is I guess.

Anyway, sorry to hear that man.

My grandmother, my last remaining grandparent, actually, is in a home being cared for because she cannot function alone anymore... I haven't seen her in three years since I moved to the US and to be honest I doubt she'd remember who I am, and as for recognizing her great grandkids... well that one is completely out of the picture...

Alzheimers, dementia, whatever it is is a brutal thing indeed.

Environmental Biology is going to be incredibly draining. I don't know why a school would make a lecture class at 8 in the morning.

At one of the top party schools in New York.

I'm not saying I party every night, but that doesn't make much sense to me.

I've been working at a retirement home for going on 3 years now and there are residents who have been there longer than me that still don't remember my name. There's a woman there who recently lost her husband a little over a month ago (they lived together in the home) and she comes up to the front office at least once a day to ask where he is.. it's heartbreaking. With illnesses like Alzheimers and dementia, the best thing you can do is just go along with it honestly, while still trying to point them in the right directon.. and a visit from the family every now and then helps more than people realize I think.

It is a strange and random illness sometimes too... last Christmas we called home to Australia and my grandmother remembered my wife and not me! Hehehehehe.... after some talking she remembered who I was though, so you're right, a little family attention can go a fair way.

A guy ran a red light and cut me off this morning...then honked at me like it was my fault. Being the stable person I am, I followed him to see if his house was on fire or if his wife was having a baby. Nothing, he wasn't even old, just driving like a maniac. Idiot drivers...
