Let's hope I don't sit on the computer wasting my life away today like I did yesterday. This post is not helping.

Relaxing morning + easy afternoon and evening at work made for a pretty good day... the nice sunny temperate weather here today sure as heck helped too... a good day and to make that little bit more completely nice my two year old daughter just came out and gave me a hug... definitely gives you that warm fuzzy feeling...

I was getting ready to leave earlier for a bike ride and a stop at the record store and coffee shop, when my landlord knocked on my door asking if I'd had any problems with my kitchen sink. I tell him no, not since a month or two ago. He leaves. I walk in the kitchen, and my sink has standing water. Plunger doesn't help, so I ring him up and tell him that yes there is a problem. If he'd bothered to tell me why he was asking I might have checked while he was at the door. Anyway, upstairs neighbor had a problem too. Long story short, we had to open the pipes under my sink, drained the water into a bucket, then he did something else that basically flooded my kitchen. Being that I have a trash disposal, there were bits of food all over the place. So he eventually got everthing unclogged and put back together, and helped me clean up. It just sucks that it took up over an hour of my time when I had finally decided to get out of the house and enjoy the weather. I still ended up leaving, but it was a rushed ride to the record store and back, not as relaxing as I'd intended.

Oh and I got a haircut earlier in the afternoon.

I hate it when an intended relaxing trip becomes some quick rushed thing that you had no intention for it to be... that sucks! As does the impromptu floor / kitchen mess... sounds like an hour or so from hell...

Could have been worse, like the toilet for instance.

I have a habit of making things rushed without disasters already, just because I put things off till the last minute, can't make up my mind, glued to the computer/music, etc. but this time I was ready to go. Anyway glad I went out even if it was rushed, since my Saturday was such a waste. At least I got a bit of fresh air and exercise.

Today I was told that I have to defer my studies until the next academic year (February 2010) because I missed too many days of teaching rounds due to illness (I HATE YOU SWINE FLU). So now I'm stuck with nothing but looking for some crap job to tie me over until next year. Ra, frustration.
