I'm guessing Hot Topic is a US store... ?

Anyway, it was a whole range of things, because it's 'activism week' or something this week at uni... mainly on the inclusion of all cultures in Australia/ multiculturalism. There are a lot of really racist people circulating at the moment who are against other cultures immigrating to Australia and there has been a lot of disgusting violence against students of Asian ethnicity. Which is ridiculous because most of my Asian friends have families who have been in Australia for decades more than other people, and they contribute a great deal more to society than the racist fucks protesting for a 'white Australia.'

Yeah. I get quite worked up about societal issues.

As well you should... I attended many a Uni rally on that exact topic in my time...

Don't get me wrong, I love Australia to death. I miss it like a limb lost in a war, but I always thought the stupid xenophobic crap pulled by the paranoid anglo centric idiots (that make up a small but persausive portion of the community) really held a great country back from being even greater...

Australia never was, and never will be "white"... despite whatever policy has been in place! Australias strength and future lies in its multiculturalism, as well as in embracing its indigenous peoples and their culture...

But Christ I miss all the good stuff about Australia... maybe I should stream some Triple J just to feel all homely again...

Swarthmore right?

Yeah I had an interview and spent the day on campus. One of the most beautiful places I've ever been.

Right on! If I ever lived away from Australia I would get so unbelievably homesick, I don't know how you do it. How long have you been living in the US and do you plan on coming back? And Triple J has gone downhill these days... not nearly as good as it used to be which makes me sad :(

Finished my script about an hour ago (or at least the 1st draft), which was nice. Managed to get a new bike today as well, so it's been a pretty decent day really. Not bad for a Monday anyway.

Reasonably crappy day that I am now just beginning to shake off with some soothing electronica...

The morning was ok aside from a temperamental two year who would't accept I wasn't going to buy her the "big toy", something like a 100 dollar computer type thing... pnce we got her over that things went better, until work found all new ways of sucking tonight... only to find when I got home from work that the same said two year old had clogged the bathroom sink with little bits of torn toilet paper...

I love her to bits but today was NOT her greatest day ever...
