Sorry to hear that. It must be particularly bad for those guys who have to go into Iraq now, taking the blame and the anger which was generated by those who invaded in the first place.

I'm sure he will be ok.
My mate has served two tours in Iraq and he say's that it's not as bad as he expected.
In fact he quite enjoyed it.

adidasss, good luck with your middle sister tomorrow mate.

I remember when my niece told our family she was a lesbian. We all love her the same.
I've said it before, but I think you will find that people with negative attitudes towards homosexuality don't tend to know any gay people.

Look how your youngest sis has taken up the cause on your behalf, since you told her.

Ah I never knew adidass was gay, ah your neice should be fine with it, i find that people tend to say things like "I wouldn't like my child to be gay" but then they find it pretty easy to accept when it's friends, relatives etc.

Myself and my family like to think we are quite open minded people.
However, Marijan has a problem due to him living in a much more religious oriented country, namely Catholic.

I hope he doesn't mind me saying this, but his mother in particular has to square off her love for her son and the thought of him going to hell, due to her religious beliefs. You can see his problems aren't as clear cut as my nieces, for instance.

Anyway, my response to her worry is to say that the only reason she has to be interested in the sexuality of her adult son is whether she gets any grandchildren out of it - its true, parents all want to be grandparents... all the same benefits as parenthood with few of the downfalls - and as my brother already has a daughter and my sister is married, what would it matter if I were ***/sterile/ugly as hell and therefore less likely to become a father?

If you've got siblings who are going to have kids someday, then this can be a kind of argument. Having said that, my family really aren't religious, old-fashioned or anything like that, so they don't have any really strong moral issues with different sexualities, just 'worries' about things that they haven't experienced before.

Sorry to ramble here. Adidass, you seem to be keeping us up to date with how your coming out process has gone. Please keep the reports coming. Its quite useful to me because one of my housemates is *** (well, two actually, but the other is practically invisible), his sexuality is obvious to almost everybody he meets, but he is yet to come out to his family or any of his friends at home (Hong Kong). I probably wouldn't care, but he CONTINUALLY goes on about it to me. Really non-stop. I'd like to be helpful, both because I'm a helpful kind of guy and also I figure if I do he'll eventually start to talk about something else for once.

So please keep the updates coming. It'll help me when he starts asking me for advice and suggestions about what he should do. Cheers.
yes, my brother has one child, a daughter and it looks like that's all he's gonna have ( this is rather insignificant, but i think it will sting once my family realizies our family name dies with us, seeing as how the other brother ( me ) is not having any kids ). my mother gets very upset when i tell her i'm never having kids, she's old school catholic and to her, getting married and having kids is the purpose of life ( and as right-track pointed out, there are bigger things involved in telling her, such as hell....plus, she's not educated and you cannot reason with her, the bible is everything to her ).

i no longer have any problems in telling my siblings ( there's 5 of us, so after tommorow, there'll be 2 more to go, but they will be a bit tougher to deal with, seeing as how they're 10 and 12 years older and thus more set in their ways and much more conservative ). the only possible problem i see with telling the older two is that they might get so upset they might decide to kick me out or stop supporting my ass ( we have a family firm and those two are in charge ), but that's highly doubtful ( although i really can never tell with my oldest sister, she can be a vicious bitch at times )...

at this point, my main problem isn't telling people, even in my home town ( i told my sister she's free to tell all her friends ), it's that my family will be stigmatized if this ever gets out, i don't care if people start shit with me or start giving me the evil eye on the street mainly because i don't care what people think of me, they're all idiots and i don't plan to live there anyway, but i do care if my sister for example gets in trouble with some of those neandrathals trying to stick up for me ( something she's always done, ever since we were kids, and something she feels is her obligation to date ). this is a very small village we're talking about and me being gay would be the news of the week....i don't think i have to explain how people in such places ( and it's on an island so even a bit more conservative and backward ) view homosexuals ( dirty, promiscues, aids stricken, immoral sinners that will try to fuck you in the ass if you're not careful, no joke, people think that if you're gay you wanna screw any man that walks by, apparently they're under the impression gay people have no standards ). so yeah, that's the only reason i'm a bit worried that it will get out, because my family would instantly become "that faggot's family" and a whole slew of problems would ensue. well, ok, that's a lie, i'm worried about other things, i don't want people to shun me when i go back home or for some asshole to gather up a crew and beat the shit out of me ( all realistic options when it comes to my little town )....em *goes back into denial*

sorry, i digress.... i feel bad for your friend, it's "a god damn bitch of an unsatisfactory situation" as you can imagine. i feel a bit worried that i'm suffocating you with all this gay shit these last couple of weeks, but, if it wasn't for that, i would be talking about some other boring aspect of my life, i just thought it would be rather interesting to see how the process goes.

if your friend is computer savy and you think he would want to, give him my msn info and i'll be more than happy to talk to him, maybe give out some advice, and get him off your case.....

Aaaaah I didn't know that either :\
Yes that does complicate the issue a bit. But I still believe that they can come to terms with it.
There's also a point where a mother accepts that her beliefs are not the most central part of her life, but the love for her son is.
Anyway blarg, I'm really rubbish at trying to understand this, all I can say is good luck adidasss! :3

My day was rather amusing, although it was an awful day health-wise, the social parts were funny...
I was in an awful, ornery mood today ahaa...and I was snapping at everything, and slapping people...But the interesting part was that this one kid actually claimed I bruised his arm by hitting him, and he went and told the principle haaa, and so I was supposed to have detention, BUT....they couldn't get a hold of my mom [therefore they couldnt hold me in detention], and whattaya know, my mom comes and picks me up early HAHHAHHA... AND, she sided with me.

Gold.
