There are many trans activist talking points that are either lifted wholesale from gay lib and feminism or rely on an implied (and false) analogy with those movements. But this is so obviously canned and detached from reality that it takes a Tristan to actually try to wheel it out.

As I see it, attraction to MTFs usually means you are willing to settle for the vaguest simulacrum of femininity, anything remotely woman-like. In other words, it's a very advanced and likely untreatable stage of porn brain.

The fact in question is that men that hate trans people are often also attracted to them in secret. Domination over people's lives goes hand in hand with the patriarchal grip on society. It is reality, and if you did even a bit of research off biased and bigoted parts of the internet, you would find that the reason trans women are in a similar oppressed states to cis women is because they are indeed women. Trans men don't get the same treatment, because it's ok in society to be a man, but you put on a dress and get called a pervert, when the bible was right abt this kind of thing. Pluck your eyes out, heathen. You are contributing to the death of real people just trying to live their lives. This issue that you should not even have an opinion on as a cis man is multiplied by the fact that trans people existing has no detriment to you living your life.

Re who gets to speak on what... I am a citizen of a liberal democracy (Canada) and I get to speak on whatever I see fit. "Only X gets to speak about X" (aka the village idiot version of standpoint epistemology), is unsustainable in a democratic society.

As I will never tire to repeat, the political demands of the trans movement (medicalization of gender nonconforming minors and the abolition of sex as a legal category) affect all of us.

Re the "homophobes are secret homosexuals" trope. I have no idea how true it is, I don't think I've ever seen it confirmed in the wild (or outside the 1999 Academy Award winning picture American Beauty). I suspect there are many who aren't. Above all, it doesn't seem like a useful thing to say to someone with homophobic prejudice if you want to help rid them of it.

Copying and pasting it to MTFs seems like something from a bad standup routine. Though now that I think of it, it might as well be true about a certain type of guys. The only guys I know of who find MTFs attractive are porn-addicted losers along the lines of Batlord, and they are typically enthusiastically pro-trans. But it may well be that there's another type of porn-sick losers who also find MTFs attractive and hate them and themselves for it. This does sound completely plausible. So thank you for educating me, Tristan.
