Today my squadron and I had to join the rest of the Group and Wing to have a manditory "fun run" which ironically is not fun. gee imagine that? Worst part is, it was snowing and the Air Force doesn't give out warm PT gear in Maryland...
and this was all AFTER a little pre-thanksgiving getogether for our squadron, so everyone was stuffed and cold...but apparently, we needed to boost morale... |

I just had a sweet idea for a coding project.
I could develop an mp3 tagging program. I've always used Tag & Rename and it is brilliant but it has flaws such as the inability to handle Roman numerals properly etc... and it doesn't work on Linux platforms. I could add additional functionality too. It could scan a music library for potential problems such as one track being tagged as "The Beatles" and another being tagged as "Beatles". That would be quite useful for consistency, especially with last.fm scrobbling. Furthermore, it could match tags against a database (i.e. MusicBrainz) so that it is tagged in accordance with last.fm conventions. Maybe it could scan a library for mp3s below a certain bitrate? Maybe a feature which converts all .bmp album art into .gif/.jpg because BMPs are huge? A feature that changes "Artist, The to "The Artist"? It could completely restructure a music collection (filenames and folder sorting) according to the mp3 tags. This is a problem with Windows Media Player, as altering a tag in the program does not alter the folder structure. Therefore, while a music library might look perfect and be tagged correctly, the actual folders/filenames look stupid. A more complicated problem would be to update WMP library files and playlists according to the location changes of files so that restructuring doesn't break existing dependencies. This is going to be awesome.
