I spotted this jacket at a department store this morning when I stopped in to pick up socks to donate to a homeless shelter benefit this weekend. It's the only time I've been to a store in years. Evidently rowing blazers are in-season!
It was quite tempting as I've been considering putting together an outfit of the titular character from Patrick McGoohan's iconic 1967 ITC series, The Prisoner for ages. The fabric color is a bit off so I resisted. I've already got an ensemble in the spirit of Alexis Kanner's Number 48 from the controversial finale episode, "Fall Out," right down to the TIbetan Buddhist meditation bell necklace he wore. That will suffice, at least for now. Spoiler for *Reference photos from The Prisoner*:

It's a good day. I took myself out antiquing twice and at each event found extra special items for friends and family. One of my oldest friend from back in my home town's wife has a Ghostbusters shrine in their home, and I spotted 1/6 scale replica figures of all four at a comics show, and he was wondering what to get her for her 40th birthday next week so it was a perfect find. He drove out to my city to pick them up and we went out to brunch.
Then antiquing this morning I found a Lucy Show Barbie mint in box that my mother was hunting for, so that came home as well. I tried attending a regional meetup event last night, but it was in a really loud concert space with 10 live heavy metal bands - not my forte so I headed home early. But the event was a fundraiser for the homeless so at least I could contribute to the cause. Tomorrow is an appointment to fill my scripts. The doc doesn't accept Medicaid so each 8-minute session costs me several hundred dollars plus the cost of my 3-month supplies. But at least it's not an unexpected event so I've been planning for it. Writing that music article the other day was the highlight of my week - surprise inspiration is always welcome. I'm puttering around the home quietly to finish out the weekend, hoping my background check at the VA passes and they offer me the job real soon.

I'm in so much pain at the moment with a severe toothache. I tried to see my dentist Friday but he called out and I have an appointment Tuesday. I was in so much pain Saturday that I went to the VA urgent care to get some stuff for pain management to hold me over until it's time.

I'm bored so I just Googled news for human cloning and the first article I saw was titled, Harvesting Clones to Live Forever Is Monstrous, and I'm like, brave stance, guys. But the very next article was, Human CLONES purposely grown to give people 'spare parts' like hearts, lungs and livers could be the key to living forever, expert claims, so I guess I forgot what ****ing species I was talking about.

Friends, I'm pleased to share that I have really good news for a change on my career front.
I've just received confirmation that I've been hired as a Federal employee for the position I'd applied for back on Jan 20 to work as a Claims Examiner for the Veterans Benefits Administration. My start date is June 5. (The day my benefits expire!) It will be challenging, but I'm going to do my very best to master the new role.

Good luck in your new job! Being out of work when you still need a steady income can be a nerve-wracking experience. Glad you found employment.
