I'm with TH on this issue - probably because of a shared culture to some extent. Old kitchens and small kitchens (so common in the UK) are not designed to accomodate dishwashers. I've never lived with a dishwashing machine in my life and have no plans to start now. Wash by hand with a plastic bowl in the sink is the way to go if you wanna be in my gang, my gang.
(Plus, in my part of Mexico, people don't use hot water, so no elec is involved at all.) ^ Doesn't need a plug, or a re-modelled kitchen, or an instruction booklet. What's not to like?!

I don't wash with hot water either. Completely unnecessary and a huge waste of electricity and water.
