nah it works like this:
1. hold the cutlery vertically above the diswasher cutlery basket with the handle down
2. just let it drop (still with handle down)
3. stomp off

Yes this is also my practice lol. I have a dishwasher at home but prefer to hand wash, and use the dishwasher as a drying rack lol.

At work I hand wash before loading the dishwasher and letting the hot water sanitize. I actually will take the dishes the kids have loaded into the dishwasher out in order to 1) hand wash them and 2) rearrange the entire thing.
