Sweet. What make is it? Year? Pictures? I love cars. I've always wanted a red, 1969 Cadillac Convertable . Or one of those sweet, old Lincoln's Paul Newman drove around in in The Color of Money...
My day? I can tell you about my night, as this day's been rather uneventful thus far... Boyfriend came over and we played cards and listening to kick arse music. Then we watched the Presidential Debate (McCain showed up, tutut). Then we went in the room til 12:30AM. Good times, noodle salad . Also, making my uncle & grandfather a website for their construction/rehabilitation/masonry business. Getting on that after I get home from lunch with the Evil Russians. Sweet times |

When I was a kid my mates Dad used to take us to the old Belle Vue Aces Speedway stadium on Hyde Road. The memories of those days never left me.
The noise of the Jawa's racing around the oval track spraying shale behind them and the distinctive smell of methanol, all added up for an exciting night for a young lad. Tonight I was going to take my son for the first time ever. I've been stoking him up all weekend...he's been really looking forward to it, me too. Then today darker memories of those speedway nights came flooding back...it fucking rained all day!!! The meetings off...GUTTED. |

They've got Stock Car racing at the same venue, but I'm sure only on bank holidays.
And nothing beats the thrill of Speedway (apart from football). No gears, no brakes. Anyway all's well. The fixture has been re-arranged for next Monday night. |

I never saw the appeal of stock car racing, but then again, I have a shorter attention span than a sedated nursing home resident. It's real big on the other side of the pond, especially in rural areas.

Sounds like something from The Dukes of Hazzard.
Back in the day the Aces used to ride in front of big crowds. The old Hyde Road stadium had a 40,000 capacity. Now they ride at the Greyhound stadium, but the noise from the bikes is just as deafening as ever. And this in a densely populated area. The noise from the Speedway is part of the East Manchester scenery. |

The Dukes may be the only aspect of that culture that I can endure (and they were awesome far and above). *Mostly it's just old, bald men with walrus moustaches and beer bellies looking for a way to waste their meaningless lives.
* In America
