My day was long and irritating. It snowed here in Ole Chi, and I hate the cold weather. Snow lives a very tricky existence. It is pure, white and beautiful when it first falls - but after it starts to lose itself, especially in the city, it becomes sludge and muck. The bottoms of all my jeans are soaking wet and the salt stains them - while it does look very trendy with all the white wavy lines, it is very itchy and smells of vomit. Saw the Chicago PD pick up some dead bums today, they freeze to death all the time -that's a little weird to watch.

I have a 10 page paper due for my Philosophy class and 3 monologues to memorize, a part to learn for a play, a revision of a screenplay I wrote, and a Musical to perform... all this within a week and half span. I'm exhausted.

oh god, all the snow is melting in calgary, so the parking lot at work is like a lake. I parked my car, and then had to go to another spot because I couldnt get out of my car, the water around it was too deep to step into, it woulda gone way up past my shoes. annoying as hell. i wish it was still snow and ice.

It was just a bad situation. He was at his girlfriends and they got in a fight, so he tried to do the noble thing and leave. He had no cash on him, so in order to diffuse the situation he just left. Bum deal if you ask me

then walk. I just have no sympathy whatsoever for anyone who drinks and drives. Endanger your own life if you have to, but don't get behind the wheel of a massive pile of metal flying down the road at 60+km/h when you're drunk.

Bum deal, I'm not discounting that it was wrong. However the fact is a fight with his girlfriend is going to take away seven years of his life, it is not as cut and dry as an after school special. He is a good kid and has no previous record and is an otherwise responsible human being. I hate it for him

What kind of job is he going to lose for having a driving conviction? Everybody makes mistakes, however a lot of people don't decide to make their mistake in the form of a high-momentum, low-control machine. You can't really argue that somebody was driving safely if they caught the attention of the police to be pulled over and breathalised... Plus, how do you know that this was the only time he's been drink-driving? Have you been there with him every other time he got into a car?

Having said that, I hope for your friend that he doesn't lose his over something that, to me, sounds unrelated to the job. Him being scared about it is a good thing either way.
