Yes, truly terrible. I'm so sorry, ISB. Anxiety is the worst, and given all the stress you've been under, it's no wonder you experienced a panic attack. I know from personal experience how frightening panic attacks can be, and how exhausting chronic anxiety is. I hope it is a comfort to know that we care and are here to listen.

Unbelievable. Really feel for you man, but don't let it get to you. At least you have a nice elegant house where you can relax among all your antiques and shut out the outside world. It might be an idea to read some Holmes or something, kind of take yourself back to a more simple time? Or listen to some older music? Classical maybe? I don't know: maybe you just want to go to bed, though you were saying you had issues sleeping. Did you get those resolved? I hope so. Why not have a look at those Muppet Show videos I sent you? That might cheer you up.
Take care and, like Mr. Micawber, I am confident something will turn up.

That is an abysmal breakdown of the system and I’m so sorry you are victim to it. Unfortunately this is not uncommon. My ex worked for unemployment and disability insurance, and what I can recommend is that you demand your case be elevated to a supervisor (and their supervisor if needed) because in my experience these kinds of problems can be easily fixed by getting the right person on your case. It’s an unfortunate truth with severe consequences, but the people that work at these agencies are uneducated Tom Dick and Harrys with no common sense or diligence. I’m so sorry this is happening to you.

You guys are very kind; thank you. I'll share a new social adventure for a bit of positivity.
Last night I met and engaged the new Outreach Coordinator for the national headquarters of the leading secular humanist organization of which I am a member. He spoke about a new event series he's launching for roundtable in-depth discussions. He was impressed with my ideas and asked if I would like to create and host some of their first events. My chosen topic would be the theme for four consecutive bi-weekly forums. He said he expects around 10-15 people per event. The four discussions would be followed by a book club event with a book I would select for everyone to read based on the central theme, and then a fifth and final event would be a lecture by a prominent national figure and subject expert that the organization would pay to fly to our city to give a talk and answer questions. That final event would hopefully have 40-50 persons in attendance. I'm an introvert so this is a real challenge for me, but I love compiling research on subjects for which I am passionate. I'm putting together a survey of relevant news, media related to the subject to launch the discussions, literature, and potential experts to deliver a talk. This project will give me something positive to do while I'm unemployed and battling ruminating thoughts. And it will be an opportunity for me to take on an important role in the organization I love and support. Perhaps it will opens doors for me down the line. I just have to overcome my anxieties about hosting and leading all of these events. They would take place this summer. Wish me luck!

Well if anhyone deserves it it's you. though I don't think you'll need it: this seems to be bread and butter to someone with your organisational skills. But best of luck anyway!

So I had just spent 3 days at my mom's house so she could take me to my appointment for HRT since I had no other way to get there, it was really frustrating and I almost missed the appointment but I got a prescription made which honestly surprised me, I didn't think I would get a prescription after my first appointment, but the doctor listened to me and explained all the risks and side effects, I signed a consent form and that was that.
Just took my first t blocker pill and first estrogen pill this morning. If only I had known it was this easy 10 f*cking years ago I could have saved myself a lot of agony.
