The most usual way of begging here is for people to come up to your car when it's at a stop light. What's unlucky for this type of begging is just how difficult it is to get a coin out of your pocket when you're sitting down with a seatbelt on. TBH, I almost never try any longer.
That is very common here. Those folks are fearless. A problem for them (among many) these days, is people typically pay with cards everywhere. Having coins on hand is rare, from my experience.

Now available! Are you fed up of begging, cleaning cars, helping old ladies across the street, only to be told they have no change, only use credit cards? Well worry no more! Bumpay is the answer! With Bumpay, you simply give the beggee your six-digit unique Bumpay number, and if they go to Bumpay.com and input the number they can transfer any amount they wish to you. Log on later to see how many of these tight bastards have actually bothered to go through all that hassle. The best thing, though, about Bumpay is its data-collecting algorithm, which will email you with all the details of the beggee, including their home address, telephone number, social security number and credit card details, so you can take what is due to you directly out of the account of anyone who doesn't pay you.

Bumpay! You simply can't lose!

Bumpay is not regulated by the Banking Federation of America and is not endorsed or supported by any banking or financial institution. Use of Bumpay may result in criminal prosecution, up to and including a term of imprisonment. Bumpay Inc and its subsidiaries and stakeholders accept no responsibility for illegal acts carried out when using their system. You absolve Bumpay Inc of all legal responsibilities and penalties involved using their system. Use at your own risk. Terms and conditions apply.

Ready for this one Trollheart?

Yesterday I get a phone call from my grandmother asking me when I was going to get out of jail. I thought she was having a stroke. Turns out she fell prey to the classic "help me grandma I'm in jail and need cash money right now." scam. They got her for $12,000. I'm f*cking furious. The worst part is that she doesn't want to call the police because they beat the sh*t out of her ten years ago....

...for those of you who don't know that story. The quickest way to tell it is that she got arrested for not letting her partners troubled ex cop son into the house to continue to steal valuable items because he's a pill-head ex cop junkie and he got his old police buddies to literally arrest my grandmother for battery because she put her hands on him. When they arrested her she suffered a black eye and bruised collarbone. She was 76 years old at the time and five feet tall...

The never ending slog of sh*t I my family goes through never ends. Hey, at least we're not in Florida.

Wow. That's awful. It's a scam that still happens a lot. Despite the past with the police, I hope she can somehow get her money back, as well as some justice.

Did your Grandmother ever tell anyone about her incident with the cops? Sounds like the media would have had a field day with this.

Plankton 10-04-2022 01:21 PM

I overheard a coworker on the phone getting scammed a while back. He was to the point of getting out his credit card when I looked at his screen and saw the scam pop-up he thought was legit. I just about slapped his phone out of his hand. The **** people will do for money.

Exo, I hope you and your family catch a break from all the bull****.

My grandmother just wanted it to all go away. We never did anything with it. We could have owned that town.

God damn, where's Christopher Dorner when you need him. And was your grandmother cleaned out or is she still financially okay?
