I was going to suggest a late night visit to this place but, unfortunately, it looks like it's gone out of business since I was last in Portland... |
Maybe bring an air conditioner, Frownland. I hear it can get really hot in Portland these days.
That's a really sweet letter, Steph. |
What a beautiful tribute Steph. Who is the guy. sorry it doesn't make it clear (or maybe I just couldn't see it through my tears)? He certainly has a wonderful turn of phrase. How are you doing now (stupid question # 1,450) - I know it's way way way too soon to even think of recovering but you will get there. Hope you're okay.
Let us know if we can do anything. We're all here for you in this bloody awful time the likes of which, thank a god I don't believe in, few if any of us have suffered, or hopefully ever will have to. TH |
Everything is now done as far as paperwork and payments are concerned for the new place. Feeling excited but also anxious as this is a new venture for me and as my dad put, "I dont know what I dont know"
This is a new start. A new beginning. I'm excited and nervous and am ready to go. 2 more weeks until we close, supposedly. |
GL Key. I'm actually moving up to Tennessee in a few months for a fresh start of sorts too. Probably getting married by this time next year also.

 Congrats Key and Anteater.
A year of changes for a lot of us! It looks like my Malaysian story is coming to an end. No idea what's in store next though. Hoping for the Middle east, but let's see. |
My congratulations to you both too, Key and Ant. And best of luck with your relocation, Adidass. I expect it will be a change to be not quite so - I don't want to say repressed but you know what I mean. A more, maybe liberal country?
Oh wait, you said Middle East?? :yikes: |
Thanks. Yes, the Middle east is not ideal for us but it's the only place where we can have a similar standard of life to what we have now. Going back to Europe has its advantages, but the drop in standard of life (and income) would be significant. But whatever it is, as long as I'm still employed we'll adjust...:)

I hear Kabul is really booming
