You already have the power to crawl out of your own asshole. We believe in you.

Nah, I'm good. Even accepting that I'm a freak in many contexts, there are enough those where I have a positive value. Same with people. Being who I am has served me pretty well overall.

You strike me as an angry person. You should try to fulfill yourself outside MB.

I'm cool with that. Just take it from a truly unbecame man that the pseudo-academic bloated self-justification is unbecoming. At least outside of reddit.

The one downside I see is that it means you're being somewhat cautious and you don't really (or at least not as much) expose yourself to being judged, which is where so much of the beauty of social interaction lies for me. That's how you discover people.

For example if someone who more or less knows what type of person you are still trots out a lecture about "erm actually it's really not cool that you take out your problems on gay people cause that's very colonizer of you " the moment you say something off-color, then you know that maybe it's not someone you're likely to have real talk with.

But that's also how you find the people who like you for who you are, and that can be pretty special, online or irl.
I've met a ton of great people online and often times it is due to the fact that we tend to have the same twisted sense of humor but there are certain boundaries depending on the person. In a perfect world, yeah I wish the internet wouldn't chastise people for what they say but it doesnt work that way. It's never a bad idea to be cautious on the internet because we arent all computer screens. We are human beings. We all have emotions and some show them more than others. I suppose it's good to have a mix of messed up humor and general empathy and kindness towards others. Theres a line there somewhere.

Definitely agree with your last point.

Buddy, the only reason you believe what you believe is that various academic languages seep into everyday life.

Conversely, you may find high-minded concepts like "I crack gay jokes because I like being judged" intimidating, but it's not what Judith Butler writes about.

Bad? Come on, you're one of the good guys. You just seem insecure and easily riled more than anything. Which is fine too. On some level everyone is.
