Don't worry, we'll all be learning about it soon, I fear.
This is actually tomorrow's newspaper, with some salient points:- ![]()

Yeah, they really look like they're battling, don't they? No social distancing, not a mask in sight....

^ Being tidy minded, I've continued this conversation in the Covid thread, if that's ok by everybody.

An exciting spontaneous project! A few years ago I picked up a small framed print of an illustration from the late 1800s. Last night I decided to search the web for the inscription to see what I could find.
As my luck would have it, I found detailed information from the Archives at The British Museum. Evidently, it was part of a set of three images by printmaker William Henry Boucher. They are renderings of paintings by Walter Dendy Sadler from London in 1889 - etchings and drypoint on simile vellum. I immediately went to work manually reconstructing a complete set of the images at archival resolution stealthy lifted and assembled from the Archive’s website and soon had all three renderings printed and framed in my home! The works are titled, “Where the Widow Lives,” "Who is it?” and “The Widow at Home.” I think they turned out splendid! ![]()

I'm very disappointed that there are people out there who treat their dogs/pets like this. I honestly would have called SPCA or some animal management authority (if you have one) and report him. But without knowing the guys name it might not be possible. Aside from that, I don't think animals deserve us, they are too pure. Quote:

Aww you're too kind Lis, it's been 4 years now since the break up and 3 years since my mental health break down (which is the cult Batlord was talking about lol). I can say I am in the best situation in my life, a great job, great apartment (I live by myself), an amazing landlord (who doesn't ever increase the rent, put a cat door at his cost and installed a heatpump/aircon), two adorable kitty's, loving friends and family, half decent salary, and I live in NZ. However, I am struggling at the moment with the Covid-19 situation. Yes we've been a model country Lis, but, we had our 4th lockdown which has lasted over 3 months and the elimination strategy has been revoked as it's too hard to keep on top of the delta variant as there are Kiwi's not following the rules by visiting their family/friends which as increased the spread. Now with there being a new variant, I am feeling the worry (it's hard not to when you're already dealing with anxiety) and had to go home from work 3.5 hours early due to nearly having multiple panic attacks. Luckily I will be talking to my counsellor tomorrow and will need to come up with some important techniques to cope with my feelings and raging thoughts. Quote:
I am not sure why, but I am enthralled by these pieces. I don't have the words to describe how they make me feel, if that makes sense? Last edited by Scarlett O'Hara; 11-27-2021 at 02:40 PM. |

Thankfully my Covid work panic attacks just come in the form cold nihilistic rage. Much easier to bottle up and swallow.

We've been basically locked in for two years now, as such. The lockdowns ended but I decided to stay as I was, only doing the one shop (Friday) and avoiding going out if at all possible otherwise, due to Karen's vulnerable state - at the time she was still waiting for her second vaxx - and always masking up, cleaning hands, spraying everyone ahead of me with machine-gun fire just in case they breathed on me, you know, all the things the CDC told us to... what? They... didn't ... are you sure? I could have sworn we were told to arm ourselves and take no pris - um, well, okay. Maybe I was being a little too careful there.
Anyhoo, the point is that (admittedly kind of from choice) I've been on lockdown for the best part of two years now, so I know what it's like, kind of, to be isolated. Though I was never much of a social person anyway and prefer my own company. We do get into rows though, you should hear us. Well, I can be a right bastard when I want to be, and I'm just not going to take that from me. Who do I think I am? Off the point again. tl;dr: if you want to talk you know where to find me. Always an ear and a shoulder here for you.
