My world has just come crashing down.
Oh well, nothing for it I guess but to kill everyone else so that my shame never leaks out. Now, let's see, A-Z, A-Z, where are we....?

I watch some gory subreddits (most of the time, I'm nonplussed by it), and there was this one video of a mother in India. It's Mother's Day (happy Mothers' day to all the moms here), and there was a video of an Indian mother grieving over the dead body/remains of her daughter in the street who just got ran over by a semi truck. It looked like she got stepped on by a damn stegosaurus. And the pain she exhibited was just heartbreaking. Man, this world is ****ing cruel. My heart ****ing sank.
Jesus Christ in space overshooting the ISS and ending up floating off Jupiter! Why would you a) watch such a thing b) equate it with Mother's Day and c) tell us about it? Spread the misery, huh?

I don't know, I've got a fascination with the insides of the human body. Sometimes we forget that we're just (physically, at least) bags of meat, bones and blood. Seeing **** like this definitely brings you down to Earth and helps you appreciate life and your loved ones more. Sometimes, it's worth the discomfort to see the brutal realities of life in certain places. Mother's Day just popped into my head because of the context. And I had to tell y'all because this colored my day - and this is of course the 'Your Day' thread.

I used to do the same, I think I've even seen that video or a similar one at least. I was generally nonplussed when watching them, but my opinion is that they add up over time and leave an impact. It's worth understanding and seeing it is the best way to know for most people, but I prefer being informed about the world's harsh realities without living them vicariously. Watching brutal videos doesn't prepare you for when those situations happen to you as much as people think, either.

You do you but that **** ain't healthy imo. There's plenty of excellently done fake gore with no real suffering where you can scratch that itch.

Thanks Frown, I genuinely do appreciate the input.

I don't watch it often. But occasionally when I scroll through Reddit, it is there. It hasn't affected my mental health or anything. But if/when it does, I'll certainly be unfollowing.

As you say, it is stuff that's worth understanding. I primarily became interested in it due to the desire to see what is really happening in warzones and overseas in territory that is disputed (my strongest political stance is being anti-war - it's one of the reasons I so strongly identified with liberals as I grew up in the midst of the Iraq War). Add in the cartel stuff I follow with that. It's genuinely scary and frightening stuff. I can only take it in small doses.

People get disappointed all the time with stuff.... c'est la vie

The land we are trying to buy at the moment is causing a headache..The estate agent has lied to us and now she realises I am not a walk over and swords at dawn could be sometime today..haha..stuff like that is more frustrating..I tell her we need this and that then the next email she says it back to me like she has come up with it....I called her a Politician she ignored that,,, infact she ignores a lot that is important..like the size of the plot is questionable so I tell her get a geometre man in..then she wants me to pay him..she can go and swivvel...she knows that now as well..
most of us have french in our genes ...history spells it out...Husbands ancestor's on one side are all from around this area where we live now..The other side some famous Londoners who moved on without leaving and of there riches..bugs...In fact Husband's Grand Father on his Dad's side lived in a work house in the East End of London with his 10 children and Wife so they lost out also...lording it all before that I have discovered....Its an interesting hobby when the people get up to all sorts...
I thought I read somewhere you were Irish..no idea where I saw that or if I actually did as all. I do actually live in cuckoo land mostly, take coffee breaks from it though..

I am Irish, so disappointment comes naturally to me.

So you're not a colonizer, you're a colonized.

Lucem, you're right, it's silly to talk about what I would or wouldn't do IRL. Glad you brought it up. Maybe you should write an instrumental about it. I recommend a piano paired with a clarinet. With ambient sounds of you hanging from your shower curtain you ****ing failure.

Art Is Dead. Buy My ****.
