Generally speaking, the vaccine shouldn't be much of a stressor to the immune system. Every time you go outside, get in a taxi or touch door handles around town and then pick and eat your boogers afterwards, the stress on your immune system is likely going to be much higher.. You know, just to put things in an everyday perspective that speaks to all of you.
There are always rare reactions out of the ordinary, but that's the general jist of it.

Well, I don't know how to know, but it seems that you're really doing the right thing - keeping to yourself even tho your mom is vaxed. It could be that you're fighting off COVID, considering the fact that you've been working your ass off in a very public place for over a year. Going to a doctor (unless you get really sick) seems kinda pointless now, so laying low and drinking lots of water and/or Gatorade (electrolytes) is probably the safe thing to do. Stiil, remember to arrange two full days off from work if you can (you really must), when you get your second shot. It just might knock you down. Last edited by rostasi; 05-24-2021 at 09:36 AM. |

I totally begrudge British and Irish native speakers their accents, that's true

Yes. In my case it was exactly one week after I got the first dose that my SO noticed the entire vicinity of the injection site was red and puffy. As we were examining it the redness started to spread and a darker red spot appeared as if a balloon of the vaccine contents were punctured and then began leaking down my arm under the skin, right in front of our eyes. It was freaky. It wasn't so bad, no pain or anything, it just kept spreading and changing appearance (at one point looked like ringworm??). Now I'm just trying to decide whether to get the second dose in the same or opposite arm....

Start asking yourself some tough personal questions you've been putting off. They might just decide whether you become a superhero or a supervillain.
Assuming you don't have like bug control powers or something. Gotta be a villain then.

Having previously worked with insects and now in wastewater (nice word for sewage), I feel like I wouldn't have much choice.
