Trollheat and his hot press.

True confession: I actually used to iron fitted sheets, with a light mist of starch to ensure they wouldn't wrinkle due to imprecise folding. But I've been rehabilitated.

But sheets folded? No way. We got guy stuff to do!

yikez, please tell me you don't have a 'mancave'

In order to need a man cave first you have to have a wife that you are desperate to avoid

Marie Monday 03-09-2021 10:21 AM

Or a mom.
Or any other cohabitant dominant femoid

jwb 03-09-2021 10:28 AM

Dominant huh... I guess you could stand your ground and force the wife to hang out in the garage instead but that's not very 2020 is it

We try to compromise with you broads and you mistake kindness for weakness.

I wish I had someone who loved me so much that she would marry me, and that I could then be desperate to avoid. :(

The nagging wife trope irks me, it's just such a dumb unnecessary thing. It's just a dynamic that husbands and wives get pushed into by gender conventions. If men stopped looking for silly childish princesses they have no connection with beyond thinking they're cute, and women stopped looking for dumb machos to take care of them, things would be much better.

the man cave trope, which you brought up first, is also a gender stereotype and no less tied up in the same dynamic as the nagging wife trope. You're no less gendered in your approach than anyone else you just (naturally, as a lesbian) target men instead.

I dunno how much truth there is in this bit so don't take it like I'm posting it as gospel, it's just comedy but I do think there's at least an element of truth here which I strongly identify with:
