That reminds me. Teachers in school told us we had to learn to do math in our heads cause we wouldn't have calculators outside of a classroom.

Word. I've gotten so used to whipping out the phone to calculate everything my multiplications have gone to shit. What's 9x7? I don't know, let me ask my phone, I don't wanna waste my neurons on that bullshit.

The only time I've ever had to worry about math outside of school is counting the money in a drawer before taking the register at a job and my phone is a massive convenience I wouldn't trade faultless head math for.

I've had plenty of jobs where quick mental math is necessary. I mean you could pull out your calculator but that'll just slow you down.

Mental math is fairly easy with small numbers if you use shortcuts
