Bro a lot of the jobs I used to work they wouldn't hire you if you told them you didn't have a car. Uber and Lyft changed that a bit but that's basically the normal response. It's really bizarre to me how this turned out.

The country was built off trade routes run by horses and buggies.. Then the sprawl was amped up by the white flight to the suburbs in the 20th century... It's not even just a matter of we don't fund public transport enough... A large majority of the country is completely incompatible with public transport. Though we do obviously under fund it.. The main problem of how spread out we are geographically.

Ban the private automobile and use the money for public transportation
