It's just business as usual tbh. They use various metrics to look for people they think will be reliable. I guess keeping your personal finances in order is an indicator of reliability.

It's sorta the same as jobs that require a driver's license or use drug tests. If the job doesn't include driving, why do I need a licence? Just shows I have my **** in order. Which I don't.

Or why do they care if I get stoned on my spare time? Just a corporate policy. A lot of times they like to use drug tests just to get out of paying workers comp. Some companies won't even let you smoke cigs cause of the health costs. Welcome to corporate America.

My sister is trying to open a fast food franchise and is in the part of the process where they do a credit check. She has decent credit and still that's her biggest concern. I know if she gets the franchise that would make her a dirty capitalist to some of you but **** it. I don't care.
