Saw, for the first time this morning, this very cool click beetle.
They do what you think. There's a smaller, thinner version that
is probably more well-known. I have a story from the 70s that
involves the smaller ones and a performance my wife did with
soaking a log in Coleman fuel and burning it while three of our
friends performed (w/ Bill "Disintegration Loops" Basinski).
