I used to think I was smarter than a lot of people who can do a lot **** I can’t. If you were so smart you’d be riding a scholarship at UT Austin, wouldn’t you? What percentage of the people who come in to a convenient store in the middle of the night and figure they’re smarter than the dude behind the counter?

Then you better learn how to do something that provides value to their society that can’t easily by filled by a British person. Setting yourself up in a foreign country is hard af. I was only able to do it because I chose places where being a native speaker of white suburban English was a marketable skill set.
