I told my parents, who are beautiful angels, that I am NOT paying $350 a month on top of my other bills to have the privilege to pay $1500 in the case I have to stay in the hospital one night. I told them that's like paying the mob protection money when you have no enemies. They refused to allow me to have no health insurance and I told them, "well, that's how it is", so now they pay for my insurance. I'm lucky. There are millions of people who don't have loving parents like I do and I'm grateful for that. It still bothers me to no end how our health care system is so terrible but I always feel like my voice is not the right one to hear when I'm covered by two people who love me. |
