funny how it has only grown in prominence in the last 500 years or so.. being the "default" position.

Ah so having an opinion on the nature of existence is being in a religion. Gotcha.

yea if the opinion is cohesive and maps onto a lot of other people influenced by the same literature, ideas etc

If it's not a religion it functions in the place of religion

Yes it is the default logical position. The default logical position for anything is not magic.

You probably won't believe me, but that doesn't make your point any more valid. *shrug*

Yeah see this is what I'm talking about when I say you're redefining religion until it becomes a useless word that doesn't really describe anything.

its not coincidental

The groupthink is systematic because those positions manifest pretty naturally from the original stance taken on God/religion.

the answer naturalism gives is: "There exists an answer"

Actually I disagree

What it really is, is that you have to assume there's an answer to even indulge in naturalism. You can't actually ever be 100℅ sure that's right. That's the one leap of faith required.

sounds to me then that the default position for this species of so called dumb dumbs isn't Vulcan logic and pure rationality.
