I remember a co-worker about a month after getting hired coming up to me and asking me about his promised medical benefits and I just laughed and told him someone done lied to him. After that he phoned in his job for about a week and then stopped showing up and all the management was getting more and more pissed and I was listening to them bitch about him like

Turns out I owe my workplace like $500 for paying my share of my health insurance while I was on leave lol

While I was on leave my work paid for the total cost of my healthcare plan. Since it is typically deducted from my wages, while I was on leave and not making any wages, my work covered my share so my insurance wouldn't be interrupted. But now I have to pay it back.
