they kicked into Disturbance after Ka-Spel did this theatrical calling of the spirits

a recording like a looped scratchy vinyl repeated "call in the spirits, call in the spirits"

I was transfixed, I was mesmerized

then a solid 8 minutes straight of kicking my ass commenced, relentless rendition

Did anyone hit on your mom?

Probably the only reason he did it, the little faker. Ah well he's got my vote.

But honestly I resent it now and resent my social class, when you have parents that can support you, you're never really an adult and none of your accomplishments will really be yours

Did you just turn pro-bootstrap?

I can’t decide wtf I want to do. I can’t seem to get past what I don’t want to do. Plus, I’m exhausted and being exhausted is exhausting. When I took eight months unemployed after I quit working I learned something: Lying in bed all day beats any job imaginable.

Officially laid off as of the 15th of this month. We kept the company going as a 3 person operation for years longer than anyone expected but the run is over. Haven't been unemployed (except for a month back in 1986 - easy to remember cause I watched the Challenger explosion from home) in around 38 years. :yikes:
Applied for UI online and have already been getting forms to fill out. Should end up with about 56% of what I was making - luckily we've been living really close to the bone for years now so we get by slim.
Worst case I drain off some house sale profits for the next 30 months and then retire at 62 with 75% of my SS benefits.
Or I find part-time work close by and hang in until 66 for the full amount.

Getting unemployment is the most insanely great job ever

Keep it straight for taxes though

Ya, will do. I don't feel guilty about getting the benefits because I've contributed into it for decades.
I understand folks who are pissed about those who abuse it, but I hate
any broad brush 'unemployment = loser/lazy' remarks.

Congrats if you hated your job, sounds like you'll be able to make ends meet at least. I've been doing UI and freelance writing gigs since July. Be sure to do all of the steps of applying for and certifying your UI **** as soon as they become available, I missed a call (cell service was out where I was) and didn't receive benefits until a month after I applied.

No shame at all in using the benefits you are entitled to. I am currently utilizing DI. Thanks, California.
