The bus here is such a pain in the ass cause I have to go downtown and transfer to a different but just to go to a Walmart that is closer to my house than downtown is.

So it's like a 3 hr round trip for what would be a 20-30 minute round trip by car.

Honestly think next time I need to go I'm just gonna use Lyft.

We should all just move to New York and live in a squat so we can use the subway.

What's a squat?

I just had to confirm that's indeed what you meant. I thought it was but I wasn't sure.

Tbh the idea of living in NYC with roommates sounds cool. But I'm trying to close the homeless chapter of my life, not invest in new homeless endeavors.

The Batlord 10-11-2019 07:24 PM

I mean a squat doesn't have to be straight up homelessness but it's definitely not a retirement plan yeah.

I had to squat in the apt I was living in after my dad died. I was lucky in the sense that the building was being foreclosed on so the landlord basically let me squat there till the bank came to repossess the place. My friend Joe showed me how to turn my water back on after the city cut it off. Basically I would leave it cut off until I needed it, turn it on, then cut it back off. So if the city came by it always looked like it was off.

New York already kicked my ass once. My memoirs don’t need a failed again 30 years later chapter.

Idk he bought one then sold it after a bit. pretty sure it was used. And he was mooching off a chick so he didn't really have bills. And he doesn't pay taxes when he works.

as long as you show your work, you can get partial credit even for a totally wrong answer like a "I see where you were going with that, but no" type of deal
It’s just laziness for American teachers to only check if you got the exact number at the end. The math teachers I knew in Japan (two’s a small sample size but that’s what I got) when we talked about how they assessed the progress of their students it was all about demonstrating that you understood the process. I talked to them about it after saw how complicated the **** they were doing in 9th grade was. They could dig much deeper into it conceptually because they didn’t obsess over trivial mistakes like American teachers tend to do. As it moves along being able to solve the problems correctly without making small errors does separate advanced students from the pack even in Japan, especially since it’s so competitive but the typical person who’s not great at it understands it far better than Americans in large part because of the way they approach the instruction early on.
