Thank the PATRIOT Act. If the debts on your credit report are tied to your maiden name and your current name isn't listed on the report as an alias then lenders can't give you a loan because you're clearly a terrorist hiding their identity. It's arduous but I'd also say that you're better off signing another lease instead of rushing into it.

I think that's where we're leaning. I knew there would be some aspects that are a pain in the ass but overall I thought the home buying process would be fun...instead it has been miserable and put a lot of unnecessary stress on our lives for multiple weeks now.
On the phone with Equifax or whatever because we can't upload a PDF to their system. We get an error saying it exceeds the maximum filesize of 5 MB. The PDF was only a few KB
Guy on the phone: "well...KB are bigger than MB"
Bitch I'm a ****ing network engineer and you are egregiously wrong
Everyone everywhere is incompetent at nearly every step of this process so far. If we had another year to better prepare everything and save more money it would all go a lot smoother. We were just really looking forward to the freedom and financial advantages of owning a house. Just gotta get over the instant gratification thing I guess.
