I received my letter of acceptance from the school I was hoping on attending next semester. I received the highest available scholarship available to transfers, which covers about half of attending cost. Although that leaves a lot for me to cover, it's only 2 years and I know how to make a dollar stretch.

Congratulations! That sounds like really great news!

Today is the day. I've started packing to leave.

I just had an interesting phone call.

So as some of you may know I used to manage a movie theater. I left last year for a new job and recently decided to go back and help out my old boss run his theater. We're good friends and I need the extra money to move out. I start next week and am only working two nights a week.

So he just called me and said that the district manager wants me to come back full time, at another theater, to help the Theater Manager there. I'd be making less money and the benefits I would receive would be of no use because I'm on my parents plan until I'm 26 (I'm 24). However, this would eventually lead to me managing my own theater in one of two places, an art house (this would be my passion) or a REALLY nice theater in a rich as sh*t area.

This should be a good thing but it would essentially undo everything I've been trying to do since the summer. I want to move out of my house. I don't want to be in the theater business in New Jersey. I want to experience life and live on my own, not run a theater 365 days out of the year. There are certain things I want to do and certain people I want to experience those things with.

I told him that I was going to have to think about it for the winter and most of spring. I have to first see if my plan is going to work.

At least I have a fall back plan. Still, that wouldn't really be what I want. I'm conflicted.

WWWP 12-10-2013 02:21 PM

That's crazy, Butt! Congratulations on the offer, that's really exciting news. Until you make your decision are you still going to go back to the theater a couple days a week?

Yeah. I'm going to be working two nights a week, mostly Friday and Saturday nights starting next week.

I don't think I'm going to take this offer unless something sh*tty happens. There's too many things I need to change about my life to be happy. I can't just go back to what I used to do and expect to not be a depressed person. The offer is nice though. I think I'll use it as a back up plan in case things don't work out with my cousin until I can get out of New Jersey.

And it's not as though you'll lose those skills. You'll always be able to fall back on your theater experience and movie knowledge.

I walked past a couple of guys outside a pub. The guy in his 50's mouthed to me "hello", which I ignored and I heard him say that I looked like Jane Eyre (I was wearing a long black dress with silver crosses).

I found a guitar playing guide book by Frederick M. Noad that I had no idea I owned.

Maybe some gave it to me awhile ago and I lost it but I felt like I found a pot of gold when I found it today!

So happy.

Went to a show, got kinda drunk, headbanged like an idiot, got free shots. I love the Ottobar, even if their bathrooms are almost as bad as CBGBs. Listening to some chill music to aid in transition, but damn tonight was pretty awesome.

yeah, I bought an axe recently and it was an early gift to myself. I thought I posted up a pic somewhere but maybe it was just in the shoutbox.

I have been practicing an hour a day on Rocksmith 2014 but since I found the book I may use that as well and only do 30 mins on Rocksmith and 30 mins with lessons from the book.

It's my day off tomorrow after 8 consecutive days of fitting room madness.

I'm so happy.

You should compile all of your stories and release it.

Call it The Fitting Room Diaries or Fitting Room From Hell.

Sequoioideae 12-11-2013 11:29 PM

Try working in a bakery 8 days in a row, I wanted to hang myself with a braided rye by the 8th day.

I've considered that; I've considered it so much that I already have a title for my "life in retail" memoir.

Your Kid Sounds Like a Velociraptor
And Other Retail Nightmares

anyway I think I'm just going to grab a blanket and become a burrito until Saturday.

If you release that book, not only will I buy it but I will get a signed copy at the book release party!

Lol I think that is as cold as here. When the temps go below a certain number, they should just say that it's f*cking freezing instead of the actual temperature.

Taxman 12-12-2013 08:31 AM

Plus 2 degree now. Two days ago it snowed and I hoped it would stay, but no. Now it is ****ing muddy everywhere and dark and it rains and all that beautiful white snow is gone :(. I just hope we'll get white Christmas
