umm, that's completely untrue. you dont have to be a virgin for it to be effective. it protects against human papilomavirus, which is an sti that can cause cervical cancer. if you're not a virgin, you can still be protected against hpv. obviously hpv isnt the only cause of cervical cancer, but if you can eliminate the chances of getting it from one source, why not?

I've never really been too comfortable with new medications and whatnot. Seems like it'd be best to just wait it out, see how other people react to it before considering it for myself. Could be some shitty side effects we're not aware of yet.
Anyway, my day was pretty awesome. Had a really long, great conversation with my best friend, and woke up to a nice e-mail from her as well. Slept from 9-10 PM until 2-3 AM though. Was weird. Having a green tea now, about to go back to bed for a few hours. |

A: Girls need to be vaccinated before they can have contracted the virus, which means before they become sexually active, so most countries have recommended it in pre-pubescent girls. I already said and agree that hpv isn't the only source of cervical cancer. And there is a smaller chance of it being effective if your not a virgin because the chances are greater (1:3) of you contracting hpv through sex. But if you haven't contracted hpv through sex, good for you, but there is a much greater chance you have, ergo it is less effective.

We went back there and they had come and hacked off every inoculated arm. There they were in a pile. A pile of little arms. And I remember... I... I... I cried. I wept like some grandmother. I wanted to tear my teeth out. I didn't know what I wanted to do. And I want to remember it. I never want to forget it. I never want to forget. And then I realized... like I was shot... like I was shot with a diamond... a diamond bullet right through my forehead. And I thought: My God... the genius of that. |
