Yup. He might be going to jail because his friend was in a feud with another kid so Ryan decided to take it upon himself to rectify the situation. He's an idiot. OH! I FORGOT! HE THREATENED THE KID ON FACEBOOK! AS IF PRINTERS DON'T EXIST.

I hope he goes to jail and learns a lesson. He's 20 and needs to grow the f*ck up. I've never wanted to leave my house so bad.

I think you've spoken about him on here before. It really sucks. I hope that he grows up, but ultimately that's up to him.

My cousin is like 37 now and the exact same way. He's the one I talked about a long time ago who threw his skateboard at a bus and freaked out because the cops were called and the canine unit came, and the dog mauled his leg. Because he was being an assh*le. He still hasn't grown up - still taking drugs like its candy and now his body is giving out on him.

I've had the same problem with a brother as well. He's doing alright now, but it took him having a kid and turning 26 to realize that he had to get his **** together. Throughout the years, he was doing drug dealings, buying alcohol for underage kids, hanging out with those same kids, being homeless, stealing cars, living in places that weren't even places that he could call home. I can't even tell you the amount of times that I felt sorry for the people that'd be in contact with him because I knew the next day he would just screw them over with some bull**** tactic like "all I needed was money". I kept telling my parents that they need to stop helping him, but they always stuck with "it's not that easy, he's our son", and things like "you don't understand". I actually did understand completely due to it pretty much making my childhood one without the help of an older sibling. Lots of people say that they got a lot of help from their older siblings, but I can safely say that I didn't learn **** from mine except for how to stay out of jail for a day, only to go back in for some other bull**** thing. He's been to jail more times than I can count.

I remember hearing a story where he was with a group of "friends" and he had one of those knuckle things that you hit people with. He broke someone's car window, someone he didn't even know, and drove off with the car. Keep in mind that he also put one of his friends in the trunk so that they could all fit in the car. The police caught him.

I also cannot tell you the amount of times i've had police, bounty hunters, and other various people walk up to my parents door about my older brother. I'll never forgive him for making my childhood a ****fest, but i'm only nice to him now because he hasn't ****ed up again, yet. I've also had to leave my house numerous times just so I could spare my sanity in certain situations.

I enjoy his company at times; he's a funny guy, but I don't trust him and I'll never forgive him for the pain he caused you, and for completely robbing you of the guidance you needed as a middle child. The dumb shit he did will be permissible in time, but not that. Not ever.

On a sidenote it's my baby's birthday today. He would have been 14. He passed away on February 30th, 2012 (yes, there was a 30th of Feb that year).

Spoiler for Here's a picture:

The bold hit home. I'm in therapy at the moment for a lot of reasons but mostly because of my living situation. I love my parents but their judgement on how to deal with my younger brother is very skewed. I end up in a catch 22 where if I try to take control of the situation, my brother resents me for it, and if I let my parents control it they end up doing the wrong thing. The psychological damage it's doing to me is getting bad. I feel like I'm watching a car wreck in slo motion an can't stop it. For example, my dad bailed him out last night. I said he should so that Ryan learns a lesson. They just feed their baby bird whenever it's hungry.

It's horrible. Thanks for all the support though. You guys are like therapy to me.

I never went to therapy for it, but it's evident that a lot of pent up anger is due to not being able to just have my say in a lot of situations that had to do with things my brother did. Every time my mom mentions "he's trying to get better", I just shrug and say "whatever." It's just to the point that I don't care if he's doing better or not, I just don't want to be dragged into it again. I live on my own, and i'm not letting it bother me like it did when I lived in the same house as when all the situations took place. Getting out of the house where it happens is the best thing for you, honestly. Just make every excuse you can just to be away from it. I know it sucks to see your parents bend over backwards to make your brother see the lighter side of things, but you putting energy into it is exhausting you, and nobody will know except for you.

I'm glad I can talk about this, because we have the same issue and have lived with the same thing growing up. Just as long as you know what's important in your life, everything will be fine.

Seriously though, thanks for that. Makes me realize it won't always be a bag of sh*t. I'm going to be moving out within the year. I have a couple of options lined up. I don't wanna leave my parents but I just can't live like this anymore.

^You'll be better off in the long run. I still have a lot to get through in terms of pent up anger, but it helps to be able to be in your own place and think about it, instead of being stuck in a house full of negative energy.

I saw Yeezus at the Garden and it was epic. The ticket was worth every penny. I was five feet from QuestLove and Idris Elba. I saw Steven Spielberg and Lenny Kravitz was sitting 20 feet from me. Saw A Tribe Called Quest perform for their last time ever!

One of these things is not like the others!

Dinosaurs are a step down from all the other things you listed on my personal cool scale.

I'm not saying I hate dinosaurs. Just that I am neutral to them.

You're obviously smoking crack. However the hell you thought you were supposed to be watching that movie was obviously wrong. The point of that movie was seeing realistic dinosaurs. The rest of the movie was there to set the stage for the dinosaurs. And as much as I dig some of Michael Crichton's books he is highly overrated. Underneath all the legitimately interesting science he's just another mediocre thriller writer.

Only when I watch Jurassic Park. I find with Spielberg movies that I can take them or leave them honestly. I needed crack to get through that movie honestly. I'd say a majority of his books are well written and thats reflected in him continually churning out best sellers. I think they should have delved more into the science aspect of the process in creating the dinosaurs as that was the most interesting aspect of the story for me.

Some dinosaurs were designed in such a stupid fashion that it seems normal that they died out. They were pretty neat creatures and their remains are fascinating and terrifying, but damn, if creationists ever needed a reason to doubt the power of their deity, just look at the tyrannosaurus rex. Those tiny little arms, what a joke.

On an unrelated note, maintenance pulled apart the dishwasher today and found nothing wrong with it. I guess it just smells weird because it's old.

I love Spielberg. I watched Schindler's List the other day, it was brilliant. I even watched a documentary about the original holocaust survivers and their stories.

I'm sorry to hear that, it's shouldn't be a serious illness!
I remember how worried I had been about the operation of my dog back in 2012.

Bentley looks almost like mine, I assume he's a true Yorkshire-Terrier?
Anyway, hopefully he'll be on the road to recovery soon.

I took my daughter to the Museum of Science and Industry (quite a few years ago), and we were just walking along exploring places that weren't too crowded when we came upon this dude setting up a little booth type thing. I asked him what was going on, and he said he was doing a science show in a little while if we wanted to stick around to see it. The daughter was pulling on my pant leg whispering "Dad! Thats Bill Nye!". I had no idea. Nice guy though, and a good show.

Key 11-27-2013 11:34 PM

Unloaded approximately 6,000 pounds of cloth and miscellaneous items out of trucks today at work. I am tired.

ladyislingering 11-28-2013 12:01 AM

My day will be summed up in 4 stories:

Spoiler for Bob Geldof:
Our jewelry case has a very important rule: one customer at a time. If you're in line, shut up and wait your turn like an adult. Well, one guy was having none of this. He happened to look a lot like Bob Geldof (he even had some ridiculous hair and five o'clock shadow) and he was pretty angry that I couldn't break the laws of physics to situate a ring's tag to be visible from the tray. He was a major assclown; he snapped "well if you people could make the tag visible, I wouldn't have had to bother you" - as if my presence was somehow irritating him, and I inconvenienced him somehow by giving his rude ass the time of day. Idiot.

Spoiler for Suicide granny:
I was telling one of our senior customers about another senior customer who said (when declaring his senior status for the discount) that he wished he wasn't a senior. Well, this lady felt free to tell me that she was ready for death and even her "daughter is waiting for a call from the coroner". WELL then.

Spoiler for Abercrombie & Bitch:
I was rolling a full rack of unwanted clothing from fitting rooms, back to their respective spots. I'd left it just barely in the way of a very posh blonde woman, wearing a ponytail, a white scarf, and a very nice peacoat. I apologized for being in her way (though she could have walked around it, but chose to be a huge bitch about it) and she just hissed "exCUUUUSE MEEEE". Drive your ass back to Abercrombie; we don't want your kind here. Bitch.

Spoiler for Special family:
Toward the beginning of the last hour of my shift, I noticed that the racks were pulled away from the otherwise-blocked handicapped-accessible fitting room. I thought it was a little strange, and that someone had opened it willy-nilly for an impatient ninny, but I was pleased to find that a family had used it for the right reasons - I assume one of their many children had cerebral palsy or cystic fibrosis or some other tragic illness. I waited patiently for them to exit the fitting room, and figured the cleanup would be minimal to zero.

I have never been so wrong.

They trashed the entire thing. Hangers everywhere, clothes on the floor, clothes inside-out, random objects from throughout the store just laying on the bench and floor. It was a nightmare. I understand that they have a huge responsibility but I'm also convinced that the parents were hardly competent themselves. After that I watched their many able-bodied children throw hats and scarves everywhere. Goddamn breeders.

Also we were severely understaffed and my overall feeling toward my clientele was "please go home and kill yourselves".

is there such a thing as "death with dignity" there?

there are a few states in the US where if you have a severe illness (and you're not expected to live more than 6-8 months) and your pain is so unbearable that all you're doing is suffering, you can sign for doctor-assisted suicide.

there are other places (I think one is Switzerland) where anyone found to be of sound mind, with clear reasoning, can choose to die with the assistance of a doctor.
