Yeah all human brains are the same, Jack.

Precisely. We all use cheap excuses like a lack of natural ability for our shortcomings.

Is that why everyone is capable of painting a masterpiece or remembering 67,890 digits of Pi (the actual record btw)?

Yes. Nobody pops out of the womb with the ability to paint a masterpiece or memorizing long series of Pi, but some people don't let their initial lack of skill keep them from getting them to that point. Nomsayin?

Disabilities notwithstanding btw. Hard to paint if you're a born quadriplegic.

That's pretty dumb. You think with enough training you could be in the NBA?

If it was granted on physical ability alone and I didn't have to go through the collegiate sports ringer, then yes. It'd be difficult but not impossible. What does physical ability have to do with giving up on an intellectual growth when meeting an obstacle though?

I don't know cause your brain is a physical object with physical characteristics and physical limitations and everything you know and are corresponds to some physical structure in your brain? Do you not think that people are born with different physical characteristics to their brain?

Disabilities notwithstanding, I think that people's brains are more similar than you're suggesting. Much like a physical trait, you can train your brain with practice. Nobody is born a natural bodybuilder just like nobody is born a natural mathematician. Some people face less of an obstacle in reaching that goal, but that difference is incremental.

tl;dr failing to understand math after giving up on learning it is on you, not your brain structure, dummy.

I think you're fooling yourself if you think 99% of the human race wouldn't fall far short of Einstein's understanding of physics no matter how much they tried.

Disabilities notwithstanding, I think this is very much possible with enough work. It's not like Einstein popped out of the womb with an understanding of relativity, he had to work to get there. Starting that process as an adult would indeed be more difficult than pushing yourself down that road from a young age like Einstein did, though. I think that 99% of our forum members could achieve it with enough effort for sure. That effort is indeed a bitch though.

That extreme example doesn't really validate your notion that math is nearly impossible for anyone who isn't a "natural mathematician" to understand or be interested in. There's always room for growth and resting on these kinds of comparisons to determine what you're capable of is a self-fulfilling prophecy.
