You Commie. :) Gas guzzler for life. They do have great ratings. I actually prefer the interiors on those to the Toyotas and Nissans.

Oh it was a site last night. At one point, as I was walking upstairs (stairs to the upper level are right next to the stage) Neil was shouting about some "**** Yeah" guy in between songs, so I obliged and gave him a **** YEAH! about 10 feet from his face. It was acknowledged and he went on with the show.

It got progressively worse from there.

Today is my day off. I finally got the motivation to go to the store and get some food. It's 4pm right now. Tomorrow I have my drivers test.

My job is cool. My customers, on the other hand, are often void of human compassion or responsibility.

I completely agree. I was in the pharmacy today to get my drugs and the young girl from the checkout was doing the rubbish like I've seen her do before at very similar times in the afternoon. I asked her about it and she says its her favourite time of the day, where she doesn't have to talk to rude customers. She told me that one day a person didn't swipe the eftpos card the right way and said that the girl was their slave and she should do it for them. Luckily another customer told the rude customer to stop being nasty. Ugh, what a twat.

OMG someone actually told her that she was their slave? That's horrible.

It reminds me of...

Spoiler for lady who wanted me to get stabbed:
When I first started my job at the thrift store, I was cleaning up on the salesfloor and found a shirt on a broken hanger (our hangers are really cheap and bust easily). A customer handed me another one (I assume she had broken one herself) and I thanked her, explaining that sometimes these things can be dangerous, and they break on us all the time without the slightest provocation.

To which she said "better you people than us!"

Yes, because these sharp edges are better to stab me than you. Got it.

One of my favorite things to do, when I see a customer being mean to a cashier or any other retail worker, is to call them out on their shit. I always carry my taser and pepper spray; I'm not afraid of anyone. :ar_15s:

It's fecking mean, I mean seriously can someone really say they are better than someone working in a shop because they contribute so much, not likely, I say throw them into customer service and see if they like similar treatment, maybe they might think twice before being rude *******s.

One thing that helps is ranting to a loved one later to get it out of your system. It's not good to build stuff up. I do it with mom usually and she does it with me.

Ki and I rant to each other about bad stuff that happened to us during the day, but we also make a habit of sharing the cool stuff that happened, too. Gotta have a balance. Some people suck, and it's ok to rant about them, but it's also pretty healing to identify the cool/nice things that other people do.

Frownland 11-21-2013 01:27 AM

Great evening with the fellas/bandmates and we had a great jam that went in a few directions that we haven't explored before. In these past weeks I've been feeling as if we've fallen into a rut musically, but I'm glad that we finally found a turnaround point for the progression of our style :).

Paul Smeenus 11-21-2013 01:35 AM

I've dealt with retail customers my whole life and I've also dealt with some of the most atrocious people imaginable. The worst was this guy, I was duty bound to help him but I was just *seething* inside as he towed along his battered wife, her face was just a bruised mess. I was SO angry but there was nothing I could do.

Although it's actually a good thing to have some type of rut (keeps things tight), exploration can be a step into a better type of rut.

I'm having one of those days where I'm tired of everyone's ****. The GF, my job, my band, my friends. The only thing that could possibly cheer me up is my daughter.

I think I'll call her right now.

Scarlett O'Hara 11-21-2013 12:41 PM

My nipples are really cold and pointy. I'm not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing. Ladies?

And do guys get it too?

awesome-style customer stories, coming right up.

Spoiler for Neat little girls:
Here's a more recent one: it was sale day, and it was crazy. I mean, we couldn't even roll racks of clothing out without worrying about customers everywhere. I was at the register and this chick had a huge order. I think there might have been 30-40 hangers to pull from the whole thing. She also had two sweet little daughters that sorted and hung the hangers on my register's hanger rack - all in the correct orientation for loading and unloading. They were even happy to do it. That lady was clearly winning at being a parent. I was so grateful for their help.

Spoiler for Old dudes think I'm cute:
Another cool customer from my current job asked to see some of the vinyl kept in our locked case (admittedly, a lot of the people working in the back don't know how to properly price this stuff - or the fact that most of that stack wasn't worth more than a couple dollars). He was pretty cool, in his 40s or 50s, and we talked about music and vintage stuff. He told me he liked my glasses (they're really similar to the ones Buddy Holly used to wear) and my hair (which is really, really long) and that he wished there were "more young ladies like [me]".

I get those types of comments all the time (I even had a lady tell me I was "cute" once!) but that dude really stood out (because he was cool).

Spoiler for Monday lady:
There's this customer that always comes in on Monday. (When "new" product comes out.) She's really cool and always talks to everyone as if we're her friends (I guess we are, in some way, because we provide her with her favorite shopping experience) and I just think that's really nice. She knows most of us by name, too!

I am so happy its Winter here. I can actually sleep at night without running the ac all night and still not sleeping. I wish you luck in your career endeavor. One of the reason I love cali, snow, surf, desert, forest, and concrete jungle all at our disposal. And what I consider the best weather on the planet.

I had so many hangars left over from donating clothing I could smelt down the plastic and make a f*cking swing set. Don't get a closet. You just end up throwing things in there and finding skeletons years later.

My closet rules if for no other reason than my models of the Death Star, Millenium Falcon, Rebel Blockade Runner and god knows what else that have been sitting there for dogs years.
