also usually punk guitarist can play. It's just that they keep it simple

I loves me some East Bay Ray

Wow. I think that for the first time in my life I have wrote a decent song. I have "wrote" something like hundred songs before ("wrote" because I'm not actually very musically talented and cannot even play very well- just doing this for fun) but now I think that I'm slightly satisfied with my song and that's something completely new.

Taxman 11-16-2013 01:11 AM

And that does not mean that this particular song is good- it just that after I recorded demo and listened it twice, I didn't get that usual "**** this ****, this stuff sucks"-feeling

Finally called and scheduled my drivers test for Thursday. This'll be the first time doing this test, so any tips would be appreciated.

Go through the drive-thru during the test. It's the most important part of driving anyway.

ladyislingering 11-16-2013 12:25 PM

the funny thing is, there's a McDonald's right next door to the building where their office is located.

Sounds like fate to me.

Try to follow everything by the book - that is the driver's ed manual for your state.

One thing that I learned (the hard way, unfortunately), is that if the examiner asks you to make a turn onto another street or make some other move, and you can't do it safely (i.e. you're in the other lane and can't get to the proper lane safely), then continue driving straight. I'll tell you my experience so this makes more sense - I was taking my first test and near the end of the route, the examiner asked me to make a left turn at the upcoming light. I was in the right lane and tried to get all the way over to the left, and almost hit somebody (the traffic was heavy in that spot). The other driver let me into the left turn lane and I completed the test, but I failed on that bad manoeuver. The examiner was honest with me and she said if I had just continued straight or turned right instead (the safe options), I would have passed the test.

So listen to the examiner's instructions carefully, and just take a second to make sure you can follow through on the instructions. If it's not safe to do what they tell you (like above), don't do it.

ladyislingering 11-16-2013 02:10 PM

After posting the screencap seen in this thread in one of the Sparks fan groups I'm in on Facebook, someone finally identified "Mystery Babe".

He was called "Brendon".

Today was a good day.

Paul Smeenus 11-16-2013 03:30 PM

I don't remember that song at all *shrug*

ladyislingering 11-16-2013 03:58 PM

I've never heard it.

It surprises me, because I'm really into that shit.

So basically, always be safe, and just go with my instinct regardless of what the examiner wants. Seems easy enough since i'm a pretty alert driver and will always take the safer route. Awesome, that actually helps a lot!

Anyway, I got this lovely thing yesterday and found the perfect place for it in our kitchen:

Cats are pretty much our life.

Key 11-17-2013 12:06 AM

There are so many kitty related things at work that I want to just buy them all.

(with the employee discount, I probably could)

we love our kitty knickknacks and kitschy stuff, man.

I'm glad he has a taste of kitsch, as we have a beautifully decorated, vintage-looking living space (with the exception of the necessary 21st century technology overload).

lol I have to agree but instead of dropping her. The painting would just end up randomly missing even though it's not so random.

Plankton 11-19-2013 08:34 AM

Going to see Clutch tonight!

The wait is finally over! Me and a friend are taking the train where it lets out a couple blocks from the venue, then getting a ride home from another friend who we'll meet there. No worries, and I'm free and clear to soak up tons of suds. This is gonna be a good night.

If the knife is for loosening my ******* then there's no need. I assure you it has been thoroughly stretched out.

Did you actually confront him face to face? Cuz that would be pretty funny.

I know its stupid but he wanted to pull over. I am always willing to pull over. LOL He looked at me and hopped in his car and drove off. He mumbled something. It only backfired once as i noted on here a year back. My friend from high school runs about 6'7 and well over 200 lbs. He hopped out and we laughed at each other. Kids don't do road rage and always remain seated in your car for safety.

Makes for some good drinking stories.

"Hey, remember that time you were driving like a prick and I wanted to kick your ass?"

I'd use that one all the time.

lol. Today I was following some old guy who thought it would be a good idea to SLOW THE F*CK DOWN while going across some railroad tracks. He was seriously doing like 10 km/hour which is what, like 2 mph? And it was near a switching station so there were like 6 tracks and trains that were ready to go!!
