Where do you live? I haven't had to pull out the mittens just yet. Hoping I can hold off a while longer.

Okay yeah, it's generally colder there at this time than in Toronto.

I think Winnipeg is the only major city colder than Edmonton

Quebec and Yellow Knife according to readers digest.

The Batlord 10-16-2013 04:08 PM

Last Saturday I spent six hours helping my uncle's wife set up a tent and sell other people's artwork at an outdoor beer tasting festival. I know that should sound awesome but the fee for being able to partake in the beer was twenty-five bucks and I would've had to get far more drunk around my family than I was willing to get to justify that much money so I just sat around in the rain, sober as hell, watching other people get tanked. The live music should've made it more tolerable, but the bands were subpar local country bands playing middle-of-the-road covers of songs I generally didn't give a **** about. Although one of them had a female singer that did a pretty good rendition of "Where Did You Sleep Last Night". Still, contemplated suicide for much of the time.

Yellow Knife is fecking FREEZING on shores of Great Slave Lake but I think it'd be hard to call it a major city.

There's a reason why Aaron Funk made an album about how shitty Winnipeg is.

I used to live a couple hours from Winnipeg. Their people are pretty nice; they made up about 80% of my customer clientele on the weekends those days.

Sequoioideae 10-16-2013 11:27 PM

I lounged around and listened to music all day, tried playing some games, but I'm completely bored with them. Went out awhile ago for a walk and to get something in my stomach, on my way back I saw a family of deer. I wish I was able to go up to and pet them, they're some of the most beautiful animals on this planet. I also noticed bright lights on the horizon when walking up a hill, I'd love to be able to catch the sunrise someday on this spot as you can see for miles down below.

I wish I could veg out today after having four meetings back to back yesterday but that day ended pretty well with a pasta dinner party at the office. I was so tired and so impatient about the party even starting. The temptation to go home before it started was strong but I'm glad I stuck around for it.

Today's my first day off in almost a week (and the first entire day I get to spend with Ki in I-don't-know-how-long) and we're trying to figure out what to do but mostly just enjoying having an internet connection

Still listening to Thompson Twins, because of reasons (I'm just really craving 80s pop lately I guess?).

I went shroom picking today. Found plenty of wisdom-filled fungi to dry, jar, and teach me their lessons. :)

ashtrayogdc 10-17-2013 07:20 PM

Spent the day going through Led Zepellin discog.

Justthefacts 10-17-2013 09:43 PM

My day consisted of multiple drinks of red and white wine, cigarette after cigarette and long conversations with at least 10 new people I think are pretty awesome now. What a day.

The Uni's put me on a reading week. I suppose that means I have exams on the horizon. However, I've not exactly been doing much reading this week. Got some stuff done in the library yesterday but fallen behind today due to being stuck for hours in the sexual health clinic.
Those who have been following my plight in the Sexual Experience Thread will know why.

Planning on going out tonight, the Union I'm a member of is having a 20th anniversary celebration for something. Not quite sure what as the Union I'm sure is closer to 50 years old (Quick fact: The Queen Margaret Union was actually constructed about 50 years ago as the existing Glasgow University Union would not accept female members) but I have two of my friends from back home coming through, so we're ready to rip sh*t up.
An unfortunate time to have completely lost my appetite for sex.

Reading week's not for reading lol. They should just call it Procrastination Week.

14232949 10-18-2013 08:02 AM

wouldn't know where to start. wouldn't even know where to start looking for the actual reading list.
I do have work due for Monday so will probably just stay up late on Sunday, that seems like the thing to do.

Mr. Charlie 10-18-2013 10:35 AM

Today I made an apple and blackberry crumble with wild fruit I picked from the fields, and also an indian style rice pudding. Yum yum. Oh and I fed the crazy horse who lives down the lane. That's it. Been a lazy day.

I was looking into becoming an LCADC at one point, so you're not too far off there. I really don't have the patience for it though.

I've worked semi closely with lcadc before. Anyone I've mwt at the clinical level is super smart but their dedication is what sets them apart. Prob make a lot of money too. I work with mhmr or idd currently and u can make decent money in the right areas without a masters degree or somefimes without a degree at all

I have a friend that was an LCDAC and he didn't make much at all. Thats why he went and got his Phd in Psychology. Now he's the Director of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at a major hospital, making the big bucks. Thats quite few years of hell to go through though.

I don't mind where I'm at, but sometimes I feel the need for a change. I've been doing this for 20+ years and I'm burned out.
