Yeah that's why it's so insidious. I'm not willing to adopt that mentality.

I don't particularly care for most people but that doesn't mean I'm a sociopath who doesn't care how my actions affect them. My misanthropy softens with proximity and duration to others and while I still have little desire to be around them for long periods of time or learn the details of their lives it still bothered the hell out of me when my co-worker who'd had a c-section had to go back to work after like a week off. How much more emotionally dead would I have to become to be that guy who enforced that?

My sister manages a fast food place. She just got her bachelor's and is applying for her own franchise. She's far from a sociopath. She has more morals than I do. She just wants a better life for her and her daughter.

I'm not even saying rise through the ranks at BK. I worked at Walmart and I had an opportunity to get fast tracked for management and I turned it down for similar reasons. But don't write off the prospect of success completely, man. I believe that mentality is a trap. Some of the more cynical socialist types would ironically rather you stay a wage slave so long as that keeps you loyal to the cause. That's the real reason success and wealth are frowned upon by those circles imo.

At the store level you can still be a human being. Rising above that requires a different level of company loyalty and that mentality bleeds down into the store level as well. Shift managers tend to be fine but even becoming store manager tends to either make you an ******* or make you stop giving a **** and stagnate.

It won’t.
so you agree that bad choices got me where I am but somehow good choices won't improve anything. So you're just preaching basic hopelessness. More evidence you're just a bitter old man who for some reason wants my attention.

what insult are you referring to?

like I said she's the manager of the restaurant not a shift manager. She has a daughter who is 2 and a son on the way. Some people have more pressing concerns than their political ideology.

There are good ones but it's the level that starts to separate the people with a real sense of themselves and people who will grow to be *******s. After that I'm hard pressed to think of any mid-level management who wasn't either a ****bag or dead/dying inside.

I mean I have had plenty of **** managers and some good ones. I'm just not content with always being at the bottom of the heirarchy. Not like my dream is to be a manager, that's not the only option. Maybe if you stay in retail or service jobs. But not all jobs are that ****ty.

ATM I work at an animal shelter and I clean up plenty of **** but other than that it's not bad at all. I've considered going the vet tech route but tbh I don't know that my heart is in it. This is just where I happened to land for the time being.

it's blatantly obvious you're trying your best to get to me and it's not working

How old are you again?

You really don't need to make excuses for wanting more money lol

Hilarious that certain socialists of all people don't seem to understand this basic desire

jwb 07-24-2019 02:50 PM

It's about the money

Everyone has things theyv want to spend their money on. Yours just happens to be a woman.
