Having to hear bad music gets old fast as ****
|
You do you but I had a job at a boat dock for a few months one summer that was like that and it drove me nuts. After a certain point, partying and doing nothing at work is just as agonizing and restrictive as waiting until you get home to party and do nothing. It was the only job where I was like, proactive and **** just to keep myself sane. If it's good for you then carry on though.
Should change my name to UnsolicitedAdviceland huh EDIT: Quote:

Having the audio determined for me is devastating. Choosing the music is a big reclamation of my mental space. It’s ****ing invaluable. Doesn’t mean the time is mine but it’s a damn significant |

Ever had a job where you can listen to what you want without the mundanity element? |

Just saying that while inane gigs give you the opportunity for music, that doesn't outweigh the cost of doing inane work day in day out for me. If I could make music (and have partying opportunities) for just an hour out of the workday, that'd be worth it though. |

Maybe 30% of the day when teaching. But if youre stuck in a mundane job doing it with Cecil Taylor instead of Bon Jovi in your ears is... **** I don’t even need to say it. At this point now where my head is at there’s no job in the world I know of that sounds rewarding. I’d rather sit in solitary confinement and listen to jazz than be a world class surgeon. I’m sick of working. I don’t want to work period. |
