something that's pretty unfair and it's like this at every retail management position I've held

I'm required to take a lunch break, but it's unpaid, I can't leave the store, and if there's an issue I have to resolve it anyway

meaning basically everyday they are stealing from me

if I stole $5 a day from them, guys in blue could come and pick me up

if you are off the clock then they can't tell you where to go. You gotta push back sometimes.

In Florida they don’t have to give you a break period. If they want to call it a break when it’s not they can and they can decuct it from your pay unless it drops you below minimum wage.

Uh ..I'd double check that. I worked in Florida and OSHA requirements were at least 1 30 minute lunch and 2 15 minute breaks for an eight hour shift.

Your company might just be breaking the law. Which of course is common in the sunshine state.

No I mean if you're working during your break that legally becomes not a break anymore. In Virginia at least.
