I got the good ol' trial & error because we're men and we make beer.

Not for those 20/hr jobs. Plus I sucked at it. I'm fairly certain you're actually supposed to use the forklift in your training course, though. Like, not just take a stupid test but make sure you can put the method into use.

This confusion is why I linked the full mandate.

I got hit by a forklift twice in a row because the worker, who spends all day on the lift drinking when he was supposed to be helping with the labor, was wearing headphones and didn't know I was there. Like, I waited to give him time, went forward and got hit (I had a bin on top of a pallet jack in front of me to take most of the hit) then backed up to wait and give him space, and he backed up further and hit me again. Guy ended up quitting about a year later because he wasn't making enough money.

He used to make suicide nobs to help him race around corners and goof off on it but they told him to quit. That's something.

Edit: These are the only types of jobs I get. Places that see my safety as expendable if they can cut a corner while over working me, underpaying me and denying me health insurance.

Resumes are actually becoming antiquated and irrelevant.

The Batlord 06-04-2019 04:20 PM

The idea of having a resume is like the idea of buying a house.

OccultHawk 06-04-2019 04:38 PM

It’s not totally dead it’s just moving toward being obsolete because every job has an online process and upload your resume is just a side thing. In the interview a resume might just be a distraction. Some jobs you need a portfolio. It used to be rigid but I think it’s much more fluid now.

What do people with jobs think?
