Just sharing the joy of what's been an incredible weekend!
On Friday I was promoted and am so thrilled with my new office and position.
I began the weekend with a trip to my old home town for a fantastic recital, then lunch at a burger and retro arcade, then a meetup with dear friends for a theatrical screening of the sci-fi classic, Alien, then a great brunch with a gang of local musicians, and tonight I saw a concert of Roy Zimmerman at my city's Center For Inquiry.
I've loved Roy's music for nearly 30 years, got to meet him, and he kindly autographed his two earliest long out-of-print albums with his old band, The Foremen for me. Roy's unique brand of politically-themed comedy and satire has been criticized as him "preaching to the choir," but Roy challenges the accusation saying that instead, he's "entertaining the troops!" :)
Tomorrow I'll be working remotely from home for the first time, and tomorrow evening I have yet another outing for CFI's largest-attended cafe meetup. And I'm making plans for their summer solstice party in the weeks ahead.
On top of all that I had the joy of meeting up with friends I hadn't seen in over three years for a spontaneous reunion.
It's fantastic to challenge my introversion, get out there, and engage socially.
I'm grateful to everyone whose been a part of it so far this year! <3 I hope others in the community are experiencing the same success. Enjoy the sunshine and the warmer weather and have a blast!
