im having a fun time typing my essay up about Venezuela and im citing sources at every sentence because im scared of plagiarism. i have no problem citing every sentence because its honestly new information i learned but my question is..

if i cite a source early in the essay in page 1 or 2, do i have to continue sorting it technically throughout the essay still?

plus, do research essays typically have sources for every sentence?

plus,(lol), my references are TONS, like more than a page of sources.. wtf. i can understand 5-10 but im pushing close to 10 now, is that normal? :o:

you do need to continuously cite the source, but you can shorten it after the first in-text citation [e.g. (Author, 2019.) can just be written as (Author.) unless you're directly quoting a text in which case you would want to include page numbers].

i just like how the woman is presumably being beaten but your concern is how tough you seem to the abuser

@ Mindfulness

unless your instructor specified something why don’t you just follow some authoritative advice online (otherwise do what your instructor said to do obvy)

10 sources isn’t really very many - if youre needing to cite a source every sentence it might because your ideas and writing are disjointed and overly fragmented

okay, ive been doing the APA style with (Author, 2019) and its just after almost every sentence and i wasn't sure if I needed to keep doing that once i already did it once. it sort of makes sense that you need to because the reader wont know where i got what they are reading from :drummer:

thanks for helping :)

@OccultHawk

okay fam, i plan to edit it a lot and do more tomorrow in class and ask her too. :beer: thanks

It sounds like he’s using endnotes

no prob. oh makes a good point regarding fragmentation and the need for so many citations though, you may want to revise how you're presenting the information. if you're citing the same source after every sentence that's a formatting issue.

The Batlord 04-07-2019 11:25 AM

But seriously if you're out and you step on some chick's white sneakers and she comes at you and you try to grab her arms but you don't know Brazilian jiu-jitsu so you punch her in the face and then elph runs up on you with a nasally voice yelling "Can't we all just get along" that's no kinda Saturday night.

Mindy 04-07-2019 11:27 AM

yeah im actually good at formatting the essays in APA since I got an A in my computer class that went over MS word and how you do it. plus just writing essay after essay, you sort of remember how to format it. the professor wants us to do the (Author, 2019)
