All systems are fundamentally authoritarian because people are stupid, limited and ultimately are not able to manage themselves. The second you get beyond a few hundred people you'll see responsibilities piled onto a few and they will inevitably gain power of some kind beyond the rest.
To live in an ideal world where you don't deal with some fundamental aspect of authoritarianism would require some drastic change in the way that human beings tend to approach their lives and desires.
It is for these reasons that Denmark is a good role model (generally: they aren't perfect after all) for how a modern, humane and somehow not-bankrupt society can function at scale and how capitalism can be effective at improving the overall quality of life of your average person.
