I don't know what the hell is wrong with me today. Started off bad enough, but now I just want to dig a hole in the ground and hide down there.

Went to a cafe with my parents, my brother and his girlfriend. Was agreed on long ago, but this morning, I could feel I just didn't want to go. But I didn't have any excuse, so I felt I had to go and so I did.
Then I just sit there and stare into the distance for 1½ hours, being just a bundle of fun, answering a few questions with a mumbled "yes", "no" or "I don't know". Then, when we leave, my parents ask me if I want to go with them and take a look around town and I just mumble that I want to go home and I just leave.

I feel like I want to just sleep and make the day go away, but it's barely even dinner time yet. Don't know what's going on with me. Right now, I even feel like I'm on the verge of crying for no reason.

Too much MB

It's a quiet Sunday at the office so I'm keeping productive. I've embarked upon a new data visualization project - my grandest undertaking to date. I'm going to construct a 3D network map of over 13,000 of the albums in my archive clustered and interconnected by shared subgenres. I'll likely employ a Fruchterman Reingold force-directed layout algorithm and color code the genre parent nodes to enhance comprehension and understanding. This will highlight large sub-libraries of my archive better than any previous infographic.

To get started I've researched open source applications to compile and export ID3 metadata for the visualization. I'm 800 words into a paper I started writing this morning on the project to document my research and to explore the scope and advantages in greater detail.

Hooray for Sundays! :)

found out doing research for my movie that its considered communist propagranda by the fbi lol because mr potter is painted as a the mean guy with all the money in the town with strong capitalistic view. and then plus everyone "helping" George with money at the end.

i ended up typing 3 pages deep and then created my references page with two sources. its all APA format style too. first time doing this, luckly my computer class went over word a bunch and i learned how to add sources properly.

Cheers! I have a lot more than that, I'm just using the 13,000+ archival albums tagged on my server for the purpose of the exercise.

The first chapter of the paper I'm drafting outlines my rationale for this and a later section explores the potential of adding several thousand additional albums from my physical libraries once I can export and recondition the data from older static databases to be consistent and integratable with the digital library's metadata.

It's a labor of love.

So, the 13,000+ aren't actual physical albums?

The 13,000+ comprise the uniformly-tagged meticulously structured discographic archives, record label chronologies, and other collections in my digital library. I only invest in physical copies of my most essential albums, which is a measly ~4000 albums. Mapping the digital library is far more representative of my day-to-day listening and is far easier to implement graphically as I've already prepared the metadata for those libraries.
