Saw Spiderman 3, and it was easily one of the worst things I have ever seen.
Granted, I'm a comic purist, so things like Sandman killing Uncle Ben because otherwise the audience wouldn't care about the character which probably should have told the writers to use a different character, like maybe Venom in the actual movie and not the last 10 minutes, would piss me off. Because not only are they screwing with the goddamn origin, but it never happens in any media outlet and makes absolutely no sense, except to have that ridiculously homoerotic dialogue between the two at the end. I'm thinking the whole time, "Stop the foreplay, kiss him with tongue Sandy." Or the fact that in every movie, Tobey has to lose the mask for the big fight sequence because he cannot show emotion otherwise. It really exposes his weaknesses as an actor by not being able to act without needing an excuse to have the mask ripped off. Hugo Weaving did V for Vendetta without a face and was amazing. The comic writers kept Spiderman's mask on for the fights and he showed emotion and motivation and they just used print. I felt like I was watching a shitty Dennis Quaid movie that was named Spiderman for marketing purposes (which worked). That said, Bruce Campbell was a sex tornado of awesome along with any scene with Jameson. But it wasn't enough to make me not hate the movie. ...and we're done.

My wallet and my liver told me otherwise.
I celebrated on Saturday after the derby v. City. Yesterday I had a day off from getting wasted. Wednesday v. Chelsea will be a heavy session down the pub, win or lose. |

and who cares about emotion, if anything spiderman 3 tried to hard to go in, i dont give a **** about peter parkers emotional state, i wanna see him go fling around and woop some ass. I do agree in the sense toby's acting was lacking, when you cant make peter parker seem "evil" without dying his hair, and combing it over his eye =/(the bitch slap was pretty good though xD). Also, spiderman was a lot more sarcastic and humerous in some of the comics then he ever has on screen, and i wish they would have used some of that. Besides that, fun movie |

However, the "emo" Spidey got a little ridiculous when: 1. He started acting like a pimp and making gun gestures with his hands at ladies. 2. He started playing professionally on the fucking piano then did a jazz dance with Gina Stacey, jumping around the club (obviously Spiderman??)??!?!? Overall, I liked it. Even though it wasn't pure to its comic roots (acratertocoffin), I still thought the special effects were money and the movie had an overall good plot.

Pity about well ... everything else about that movie. For shame, you claim to be a comic purist yet you watched V for Vendetta without vomitting before you had a chance to be aware as to whether or not V is ever de-masked in it.
