I get that in the winter sometimes and I have hot ribena for it.
Chest is full of crap in the mornings and coughing really hurts my throat, the hot ribena is so soothing and helps with the phlegm. I would thoroughly recommend a hot ribena in the winter. |

How many other countries have something like "gløgg"? (EDIT: link to Wikipedia article. Apparently it's called "mulled wine" in English. Or it's something at least similar.) It's a drink based on red wine with sugar, spices, almonds and raisins in it. Cinnamon too, since it's specifically a December month drink. You serve it warm. It's amazing when "the weather outside is frightful".
I'd imagine some other Nordic countries having something similar, but I don't know about more internationally. Last edited by MicShazam; 12-09-2018 at 02:36 PM. |

As someone who loves raisins, I've never really understood the hate they get by so many people. I guess they're kinda half rotten grapes, so... maybe not so strange I'm mostly a beer guy too, but white wine, red wine, port wine and rum also gets my vote in the right context. |
