Nah it's more that sports are just kind of a thing that some people are fans of but it's such a culturally saturated thing that it gets tedious for people who aren't fans to keep hearing about like it's not just another pop culture thing with just a bigger niche.

Exactly. Also the fact that it’s something people literally scream about. There are all sorts of things people are into that I’m not into and that’s fine. Sports are the only one that people scream about in public on a regular basis.

If people were regularly screaming in bars about who was the best Star Trek captain I'd probably get sick of Star Trek tbh.

If it’s a sports bar, I say go for it. If it’s a restaurant or the cozy little pub down the street, I may throw something at you.

On a side note though, why do people yell? I mean I get it if you’re actually in the stadium but why do people yell at sports on TV?

id say its comparable to everyone singing along at a party. It's the primal spirit of camaraderie that gets the fun times flowing.
